MLB Scores Wednesday 6-8

NATIONAL LEAGUE…
Arizona 7 – CINCINNATI 0… Merrill Kelly (5-3) pitched one-hit ball over six innings and three Diamondbacks relievers completed the shutout of the Reds. Christian Walker had a couple of hits, including a two-run homer. Jordan Luplow and Josh Rojas also went deep.

MIAMI 2 – Washington 1 (10 innings)… Pinch-hitter Willians Astudillo and Jesus Aguilar produced run-scoring singles in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Marlins over the Nationals. Miami starter Sandy Alcantara scattered six hits over nine scoreless innings but didn’t get a decision.

Philadelphia 10 – MILWAUKEE 0… Diamondbacks starter Aaron Nola (4-4) limited the Brewers to four hits over eight innings and got help from reliever Andrew Bellatti in shutting out the Brewers. Bryce Harper belted a three-run homer. Bryson Stott and Rhys Hoskins drilled two-run shots. Odubel Herrera homered with the bases empty. Kyle Schwarber went 4-for-5 with a pair of RBI doubles.

SAN DIEGO 13 – N.Y. Mets 2… The Padres pounded out 15 hits in their throttling of the Mets. Jake Cronenworth hit a two-run double and belted a three-run homer. Jurickson Profar had a couple of hits, including a two-run single.

SAN FRANCISCO 2 – Colorado 1 (10 innings)… Luis González’s single in the bottom of the 10th inning brought home Donavan Walton with the winning run as the Giants outlasted the Rockies. Thairo Estrada singled home a tying run in the third.

AMERICAN LEAGUE…
KANSAS CITY 8 – Toronto 4… Emmanuel Rivera’s two-run single capped a three-run bottom of the first inning and the Royals went on to double up on the Blue Jays. M.J. Melendez also drove in two runs.

Seattle 6 – HOUSTON 3… Cal Raleigh hit a game-tying two-run homer and Ty France added a solo shot in the top of the fourth inning as the Mariners rallied past the Astros. J.P. Crawford had a couple of hits, including a run-scoring single.

CLEVELAND 4 – Texas 0… Five pitchers combined on a six-hitter as the Guardians blanked the Rangers. Andrés Giménez doubled home a run and scored in the bottom of the second inning. Jose Ramirez did the same in the third.

MINNESOTA 8 – N.Y. Yankees 1… Chris Archer (1-2) allowed just a run on two hits over five innings and three Twins relievers shut the door on the Yankees. Byron Buxton and Ryan Jeffers smacked solo homers. Jose Miranda had three hits and knocked in three runs.

Boston 1 – L.A. ANGELS 0… Bobby Dalbec doubled home Alex Verdugo in the top of the sixth inning and the Red Sox hung on to hand the Angels their 14th straight loss. Nathan Eovaldi (4-2) allowed six hits over five innings in outdueling counterpart Reid Detmers.

INTERLEAGUE…
Detroit 3 – PITTSBURGH 1… Daz Cameron tripled, doubled and knocked in two runs as the Tigers eased past the Pirates. Miguel Cabrera singled home Harold Castro with a tie-breaking run in the top of the eighth inning.

TAMPA BAY 11 – St. Louis 3… Randy Arozarena went 3-for-5 and knocked in four runs to lead the Rays in their pounding of the Cardinals. Vidal Bruján had two hits and three RBIs.

ATLANTA 13 – Oakland 2… Ozzie Albies belted a three-run homer and lifted a sacrifice fly to lead the Braves in their romp over the Athletics. Adam Duvall and Austin Riley added two-run homers. William Contreras also circled the bases. Ian Anderson (5-3) gave up two runs on six hits over six innings.

L.A. Dodgers 4 – CHI. WHITE SOX 1… Tony Gonsolin (7-0) surrendered just a run on three hits over six innings and the Dodgers cruised past the White Sox. Will Smith drilled a two-run homer in the top of the first inning. Cody Bellinger and Trea Turner added solo shots.

Chi. Cubs – BALTIMORE – Chi. Cubs… Rain in Baltimore forced postponement of last night’s Cubs-Orioles game. It will be made up on August 18.
