CINCINNATI 7 – Arizona 0… Reds Hunter Greene (3-7) allowed a bunt single to open the game and then faced the minimum over seven innings in a rain-shortened shutout of the Diamondbacks. Drury homered for Cincinnati. Kyle Farmer and Tyler Stephenson produced two-run doubles.
N.Y. Mets 11 – SAN DIEGO 5… The Mets used a 16-hit attack to pound the Padres. Eduardo Escobar hit for the cycle and knocked in six runs. J.D. Davis drove in two runs.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
Seattle 7 – HOUSTON 4… Cal Raleigh belted a three-run homer and singled home a run to lead the Mariners past the Astros. Julio Rodriguez homered with a runner aboard.
Boston 1 – L.A. ANGELS 0… Red Sox starter Michael Wacha (3-1) tossed a three-hitter in shutting out the Angels. Christian Vazquez singled home Alex Verdugo with the game’s only run in the top of the second inning.
Toronto 8 – KANSAS CITY 0… Ross Stripling (2-1) pitched one-hit ball over five innings and got help from four relievers in the Blue Jays’ blanking of the Royals. Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero, J.R., and Santiago Espinal hit two-run homers.
Texas – CLEVELAND (ppd)… Rain in Cleveland forced postponement of last night’s Rangers-Guardians game. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader today.
