Betty Lucille Drage

Betty Lucille Drage, 83 of Edina, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

She was born on August 19, 1938, in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of William Henry and Ruby Pauline Wood Prather.

Betty attended the Kirksville Schools before her family relocated to Edina where she graduated from the Edina High School in the Class of 1957.

She had worked at the Holiday Inn in Quincy, at the Labelle Manor and Knox County Nursing Home, in the R.C.F. as a C.N.A and C.M.T., and in Activities, retiring in 2000.

On June 19, 1995, in Edina, Missouri, Betty married Ray Dean Drage and they celebrated twenty-five years together.

Betty was a member of the Knox City Baptist Church where she enjoyed the fellowship with her church family and neighbors. She loved her family very much and had a passion for animals especially her dog, Mokie.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Jean DeBrackeleire and Larry Inskip of Armstrong, Missouri, and Linda and Scott Walton of Quincy, Illinois; two sons, Melvin and Amanda Harvey of Versailles, Illinois and Eric Harvey of Knox City, Missouri; three step children, Doug and Jackie Drage of Columbia, Missouri, Ronnie and Dana Riney of Hannibal, Missouri, and Pam and Dale Mullen of Auburn, Illinois; a brother, Hillis and Jo Ann Prather of Eudora, Kansas; grandchildren; great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Drage; a son, Bill Hitchcock; two step sons, Rick Drage and Mike Drage; parents, Henry and Ruby Prather; and three brothers, William “Bill” Prather, John LaVern Prather and Jackie Lee Prather.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9. 2022 at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. Thursday until service time at the funeral home in Edina.

Burial will be in the Knox City Cemetery in Knox City, Missouri.
