Delores (Dude) Elaine Willier

Delores (Dude) Elaine Willier, age 83, of Edina, MO passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Dude was born March 8, 1939 in Sparta, MO. She was the daughter of Howard and Effie Troutt.

Dude attended school in Sparta, MO and Novelty, MO. While Dude lived various places throughout her life, she always considered Edina to be her home. Dude worked as a Juvenile Officer, Certified Med Technician, Teacher’s Aide and Daycare Assistant. All of the jobs she ever held involved caring for others. She was known county wide as “Granny Dude” and has rocked and sang to many babies throughout the years. Her grandchildren have been known to get a little defensive when other children called her “Granny”.

On July 6, 1974 Dude was united in marriage to James (Jim) Willier in Brashear, MO. Together they shared almost 48 years of marriage and raised 6 children. Throughout the years Dude and Jim added 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren to their legacy. Dude’s family was her greatest treasure. She attended every event that she was able to and enjoyed going to family reunions where many memories were always made. Dude was always full of joy and had the most contagious smile and laugh. Dude had a group of very special friends, and you could find them on Thursday nights dining together and laughing with each other. Dude loved to be outdoors and enjoyed watching the birds and taking care of her flowers. She and Jim could often times be found sitting on the front porch enjoying a visit with their neighbors or watching the grandkids play ball in the yard.

Dude was a dedicated Christian and accepted the Lord as her savior at a young age. She was a Christian role model to her family and all those that knew her. She was a member of the Edina Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her husband James Willier of Edina, MO, sons, Scott (Pam) Johns of Springfield, MO, Robert (Judy) Dailing of Powersite, MO, Jarrod (Jill) Willier of Des Moines, IA, and Justin (Amber) Willier of Des Moines, IA, two daughters, Tina (Roger) Waibel of Edina, MO and Amy (Craig) Miller of Edina, MO, three brothers Myrlen (Irene) Troutt of Rolla, MO, Ronnie (Lil) Troutt of Edina, MO, and Eddie (Kay) Troutt of Hannibal, MO, a sister-in-law Annette Troutt of Ft. Wayne, IN, thirteen grandchildren, Lacy (Kelly) Hayes, Kisha (Kurt) Goodwin, Tyson (Stephanie) Johns, Amber (Tim) Parrish, Drew (Amanda) Frueh, Jourdain (Austin) Deldin, Delores (D.J.) Dailing, Breanna (Justin JJ) Walton, Hayden Miller and Tadym Mason, Kerbee Willier, Schuyler Willier, Grayson Miller, London Willier, fifteen great grandchildren, Amber (Chaz) Boatman, Isaiah Prebe and Emily Fuller, Conner Hayes and Savannah Mauck, Collin, Carrsen and Kinley Hayes, Cassidy and Kiersen Goodwin, Katie Skelton, Maddison and Douglass Frueh, Gara and Gage Parrish, David Dailing and Bentley Pollard, two great-great grandchildren, Alivia and Alijah Boatman and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Derrill, Rex and Daylon (Ellen) Troutt, one sister Barbara (Emil) Gann, and great grandchildren Robbie and Remington Pollard.

A celebration of Dude’s life will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 at the Hudson Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the service starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at a later date.
