NATIONAL LEAGUE
San Diego 7 – ATLANTA 3 (11 innings)… Ha-Seong Kim’s RBI double sparked a four-run top of the 11th inning that carried the Padres past the Braves. Wil Myers produced a two-run single.
PITTSBURGH 1 – Cincinnati 0… The Pirates became the sixth team in big league history to win a game despite not getting any hits. Rodolfo Castro scored the game’s only run in the bottom of the eighth inning on Ke’Bryan Hayes’ RBI grounder. Reds starter Hunter Greene and reliever Art Warren combined to hold Pittsburgh hitless.
Milwaukee 7 – MIAMI 3… Kolten Wong, Jace Peterson and Rowdy Tellez hit home runs in the Brewers’ win over the Marlins. Brandon Woodruff (4-2) allowed a run on five hits over five innings.
Chi. Cubs 3 – ARIZONA 2… Frank Schwindel singled home Patrick Wisdom with a tie-breaking run in the top of the ninth inning and the Cubs held on to edge the Diamondbacks. Wisdom and Rafael Ortega homered for Chicago.
L.A. DODGERS 5 – Philadelphia 4… Gavin Lux came through with a walk-off, two-run double in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Dodgers came from behind to top the Phillies and salvage the finale of the four-game series. Lux’s two-out error on a routine grounder in the second inning allowed Philadelphia to score four unearned runs.
ST. LOUIS 15 – San Francisco 6… Yadier Molina homered and drove in four runs to lead the Cardinals in their thrashing of the Giants. Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado each homered with a runner aboard. Adam Wainwright (4-3) surrendered two runs on three hits over six innings.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
DETROIT 5 – Baltimore 1… Tarik Skubal held the Orioles to a run on three hits and struck out 11 over six innings as the Tigers cruised past the Orioles to complete a series sweep. Miguel Cabrera blasted his 505th career homer. Harold Castro had three hits and knocked in two runs.
TAMPA BAY 3 – Toronto 0… Jeffrey Springs and four relievers combined on a five-hitter and the Rays blanked the Blue jays. Matt Wisler (2-1) worked 1 1/3 scoreless innings to get the win. Ji-Man Choi singled home a run for Tampa Bay, which also scored on a wild pitch and a throwing error.
MINNESOTA 3 – Cleveland 1… Solo homers by Byron Buxton and Gio Urshela helped power the Twins past the Guardians. Joe Ryan (4-2) allowed one run on four hits over six innings.
N.Y. Yankees 5 – CHI. WHITE SOX 1… Nestor Cortes (2-1) held the White Sox to a run on three hits over eight innings and the Yankees breezed past the White Sox despite managing just two hits. Joey Gallo hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning. New York scored three times in the second on two bases-loaded walks and a wild pitch.
TEXAS 7 – Boston 1… The Rangers rolled past the Red Sox after spotting them an early lead. Adolis García and Kole Calhoun each hit two home runs. Martin Perez (2-2) allowed a run on five hits over six innings.
L.A. Angels 4 – OAKLAND 1… Shohei Ohtani blasted a two-run homer in the top of the first inning to provide the Angels with all the offense they needed in their win over the Athletics. Patrick Sandoval (2-1) allowed a run on four hits over 6-1/3 innings.
INTERLEAGUE
Houston 8 – WASHINGTON 0… Yuli Gurriel went 3 for 4 with a homer, Justin Verlander (5-1) pitched two-hit ball over five innings and got help from three relievers in the Astros’ blanking of the Nationals. Martin Maldonado and Chas McCormick hit two-run homers. Jose Altuve and Yuli Gurriel also went deep.
Seattle 8 – N.Y. METS 7… Cal Raleigh cracked a tie-breaking two-run homer and the Mariners held off the Mets. Julio Rodríguez had four hits, including hit a game-tying solo homer.
