MLB Scores Thursday 5-12

NATIONAL LEAGUE
N.Y. Mets 4 – WASHINGTON 1… Taijuan Walker (1-0) pitched three-hit ball over seven scoreless innings and the Mets cruised past the Nationals. Mark Canha went 3 for 4 with a homer and three RBIs.

Cincinnati 4 – PITTSBURGH 0… Connor Overton (1-0) limited the Pirates to three hits over 6-1/3 innings and got help from two relievers in the Reds’ shutout of the Pirates. Tyler Stephenson went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and run-scoring single.

Philadelphia 9 – L.A. DODGERS 7… The Phillies scored twice in the top of the ninth inning to get past the Dodgers after blowing a 7–1 lead. Johan Camargo homered with a runner aboard. Bryce Harper 2-for-4 with a solo homer and three RBIs.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Houston 11 – MINNESOTA 3… The Astros put away the Twins in the completion of a game suspended by weather the night before. Jose Altuve homered, doubled and drove in three runs in an 11-3 victory. Kyle Tucker also went deep. Jeremy Peña had a couple of hits and drove in three runs.

Houston 5 – MINNESOTA 0… Luis Garcia (3-1) and three relievers combined to blank the Twins and extend the Astros’ winning streak to 10 games. Garcia allowed five hits over five innings. Yordan Álvarez homered twice and knocked in three runs.  Jeremy Peña went 3-for-3 and scored a run.

Oakland 5 – DETROIT 3… Seth Brown hit a tie-breaking, two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning and the Athletics held on to top the Tigers. Christian Bethancourt stroked a two-run single to cap a three-run first.

TEXAS 3 – Kansas City 1… Taylor Hearn (2-2) allowed just one hit over five innings and the Rangers eased past the Royals. Brad Miller went 2-for-3 with a solo homer.

N.Y. Yankees 15 – CHI. WHITE SOX 7… The Yankees erupted to score seven runs after two were out in the top of the eighth inning to break a 7-7 tie on their way past the White Sox. Giancarlo Stanton homered twice and drove in six runs. Aaron Judge homered and knocked in four runs. Josh Donaldson had a homer and three RBIs.

INTERLEAGUE
Baltimore 3 – ST. LOUIS 2… The Orioles took a three-run lead into the bottom of the seventh inning and held off the Cardinals. Jorge Mateo and Anthony Bemboom smacked solo homers for Baltimore.
