Rosabel Bushnell

Rosabel Bushnell, 91, passed away Thursday evening, May 5, 2022 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home, in Queen City where she had lived since October 2011.

The daughter of Louis Franklin and Clara Mae (Snowbarger) Schubert, she was born October 6, 1930, at the family farm southeast of Lancaster, Missouri. She grew up in rural Lancaster and attend the Lancaster Public School, graduating from the Lancaster High School with the class of 1948.

On January 6, 1952 she was united in marriage to Russell Bushnell who survives. She is also survived by one son, Mark Bushnell and his family: Ryan and Maggie Bushnell, Brooke and Jamin Jackson, and Jacquline March; great grandchildren, Rayce Bushnell, Brinlynn March, Jemma Bushnell, Arlo Bushnell, and Jansen Jackson.

She went to work for the REA after high school and worked there until January 1954 when Russell returned home from the Army. They then lived on a farm east of Queen City.

Rosebel was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Donald Schubert, and her sister-in-law Mary Schubert.

She was a life long member of St. John’s Luthern Church and served as Ladies Aid Treasurer for over twenty years.

Rosabel was a good wife and mother and really enjoyed her grandchildren. She loved to pick wild flowers and made the very best pies.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday (May 9, 2022) in the St. John’s Luthern Church in Queen City with Pastor Bill Iammatteo-Code officiating. Burial will be in the Queen City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Bushnell, David Bushnell, Jamin Jackson, Joe Barbey, Tucker Schubert, and Danny Murphy.

Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Sunday (May 8, 2022) with the family greeting friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City, Missouri.
