Orioles Earn Doubleheader Split With KC

The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Kansas City Royals 4-2 in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader to salvage a split.

Baltimore scored three runs in the first off of Royals starter Daniel Lynch and never trailed. Lynch got tagged with the loss to drop to 2-2. He worked 3 and 2/3 innings, striking out five, but it was the three run first that would doom his afternoon and that of the Royals.

Bruce Zimmerman worked six sharp innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out five to earn the victory.
