NATIONAL LEAGUE
Milwaukee 3 – PITTSBURGH 2… The Brewers came from behind to upend the Pirates and complete a three-game sweep. Andrew McCutchen came through with a go-ahead two-run single in the top of the ninth inning. McCutchen also homered to lead off the game.
San Diego 7 – CINCINNATI 5… Ha-Seong Kim delivered a tie-breaking, three-run double in the top of the sixth inning and the Padres held on to finish off a sweep of the Reds. Kim was 3-for-4 on the day. Manny Machado had four hits and knocked in a run.
PHILADELPHIA 7 – Colorado 1… Zack Wheeler (1-3) tossed one-hit ball over six shutout innings and the Phillies cruised past the Rockies to complete a four-game sweep. Alec Bohm homered and drove in two runs.
Miami 3 – WASHINGTON 2… The Marlins made it five straight wins by handing the Nationals their eighth straight loss. Jesus Sanchez delivered a pinch-hit go-ahead RBI single and Miguel scored on a wild pitch in the top of the seventh inning. Trevor Rogers (1-3) allowed just a run on two hits over six innings.
ATLANTA 5 – Chi. Cubs 1… The Braves played long ball in beating the Cubs in the rubber game of the series. Austin Riley and Dansby Swanson hit solo homers and Adam Duvall added a two-run shot. Kyle Wright (3-0) surrendered a run on three hits ball over seven innings.
ST. LOUIS 8 – Arizona 3… Paul Goldschmidt went 3-for-5 with three RBIs in leading the Cardinals past the Diamondbacks. Tommy Edman and Tyler O’Neill drove in two runs apiece.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
N.Y. YANKEES 10 – Baltimore 5… Aaron Judge blasted a three-run homer and the Yankees took advantage of five errors in doubling up on the Orioles for their sixth straight win. Marwin Gonzalez doubled home a run and lifted a sacrifice fly.
MINNESOTA 7 – Detroit 1… Carlos Correa had three hits and knocked in three runs as the Twins downed the Tigers and ran their winning streak to seven games. Gio Urshela went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Trevor Larnach and Gilbert Celestino each had a couple of hits and drove in a run.
TAMPA BAY 2 – Seattle 1… Brett Phillips singled home Harold Ramirez with a go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh inning and the Rays made it stand in holding off the Mariners. Six Tampa Bay pitchers combined on a six-hitter.
Houston 3 – TEXAS 2… Pinch-hitter Kyle Tucker came through with a tie-breaking two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning to power the Astros past the Rangers. Texas starter Martin Perez took a perfect game into the seventh inning before Chas McCormick doubled and scored the game’s first run on Yordan Alvarez’s single.
Kansas City 5 – CHI. WHITE SOX 2 (10 innings)… Rookie Kyle Isbel stroked a two-run single during a three-run top of the 10th inning that carried the Royals past the White Sox. Whit Merrifield raced home with the go-ahead run on a passed ball.
TORONTO 1 – Boston 0… Alek Manoah (4-0) pitched three-hit ball over seven innings and the Blue Jays clipped the Red Sox. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. reached base on an error in the bottom of the third inning and scored the game’s only run on Alejandro Kirk’s two-out single.
L.A. ANGELS 4 – Cleveland 1… The Angels completed a four-game sweep and handed the Indians their seventh straight loss. Taylor Ward drove in a pair of runs. Brandon Marsh had three hits and an RBI. Reid Detmers (1-1) allowed just an Austin Hedges homer over five innings.
