MLB SCOREBOARD…
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Chi. Cubs 2 – PITTSBURGH 1… Drew Smyly pitched three-hit ball over five scoreless innings and the Cubs held off the Pirates. Seiya Suzuki homered twice for Chicago.

N.Y. Mets 2 – PHILADELPHIA 0…  Tylor Megill (2-0) held the Phillies  to three hits over 5-1/3 innings in his second straight scoreless start and the Mets snapped a two-game skid. Francisco Lindor singled home a run for New York.

ATLANTA 16 – Washington 4… Marcell Ozuna hit a pair of homers and Ozzie Albies drove in three runs as the Braves pounded the Nationals. Ozuna, Austin Riley, Adam Duvall, Dansby Swanson and Orlando Arcia each had two RBIs.

SAN FRANCISCO 13 – San Diego 2… Brandon Belt hit a two-run homer during a six-run bottom of the first inning and the Giants rolled past the Padres. Joc Pederson and Wilmer Flores also went deep.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Boston 5 – DETROIT 3… The Red Sox rallied past the Tigers after spotting then a three-run lead. Rafael Devers had three hits and drove in two runs.

CHI. WHITE SOX 3 – Seattle 2…  Luis Robert drilled a tie-breaking solo homer in the bottom of the sixth inning and the White Sox made it stand in their win over the Mariners. Seattle has lost three in a row.

TAMPA BAY 9 – Oakland 8 (10 innings)… Manuel Margot singled home Wander Franco with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Rays outlasted the Athletics. Ji-Man Choi, Brandon Lowe and Brett Phillips homered for Tampa Bay.

N.Y. YANKEES 4 – Toronto 0… Nestor Cortes and four relievers combined on a five-hitter as the Yankees blanked the Blue Jays. Aaron Hicks smacked a two-run homer and made leaping catch in left-field.

INTERLEAGUE
Cleveland 10 – CINCINNATI 5… The Indians came up with five runs in the top of the 10th inning to double up on the Braves. Andrés Giménez sparked the uprising with a tie-breaking two-run homer. José Ramírez unloaded a grand slam and drove in six runs.

Milwaukee 5 – BALTIMORE 4… Andrew McCutchen’s tie-breaking single in the top of the seventh inning proved to the difference in the Brewers’ win over the Orioles. McCutchen knocked in three runs and Willy Adames scored three times for Milwaukee.

L.A. ANGELS 4 – Miami 3… Pinch-runner Tyler Wade slid home with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning after Marlins shortstop Miguel Rojas bobbled Max Stassi’s grounder and the Angels escaped with a win. Anthony Rendon homered with a runner aboard.

L.A. Dodgers 7 – MINNESOTA 2… The Dodgers surged past the Twins in a game that featured an 88-minute rain delay. Trea Turner singled home a go-head run during a six-run top of the eighth inning. Will Smith doubled home two runs.

ST. LOUIS 6 – Kansas City 5… Albert Pujols’ first homer since returning to St. Louis helped push the Cardinals past the Royals. Andrew Knizner belted a three-run shot. Nolan Arenado also went circled the bases for St. Louis.

Colorado 4 – TEXAS 1… Kris Bryant drove in his first runs since signing with Colorado and the Rockies topped the Rangers for their fourth straight win.

Houston 2 – ARIZONA 1… Michael Brantley singled home a go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning and the Astros hung on to edge the Diamondbacks. Jose Siri homered in the fifth.
