N.Y. RANGERS 3 – Pittsburgh 0… Goalie Igor Shesterkin stopped 30 shots in his fourth shutout of the season and the Rangers breezed past the Penguins. Frank Vatrano and Artemi Panarin scored second-period goals. Mika Zibanejad had two assists.
Philadelphia 4 – COLUMBUS 1… Kevin Connauton, Owen Tippett and Noah Cates scored during a three-goal second period and the Flyers coasted past the Blue Jackets. Kevin Hayes assisted on two goals. Martin Jones stopped 26 shots at goal.
Nashville 3 – OTTAWA 2… The Predators used a pair of third-period goals to rally past the Seators. Ryan Johansen’s power-play goal with 7:22 remaining proved to be the difference. Roman Josi set up three goals.
Montreal 7 – NEW JERSEY 4… The Canadiens scored three goals in the first and third periods to put away the Devils. Kale Clague had a goal and two assists. Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki each added a goal and an assist. Goalie Jake Allen stopped 33 shots.
CAROLINA 5 – Buffalo 3… The Hurricanes rallied from a pair of two-goal deficits to top the Sabres and clinch a playoff berth. Sebastian Aho and Jordan Staal netted two goals apiece.
Seattle 2 – CHICAGO 0… Goalie Philipp Grubauer stopped all 29 shots and the Kraken blanked the Blackhawks. Seattle got goals from Alex Wennberg and Jordan Eberle in handing Chicago its sixth straight loss.
Toronto 4 – DALLAS 3 (OT)… Auston Matthews’ second goal of the game came 2:10 into overtime and lifted the Maple Leafs over the Stars. Matthews entered the game tied with Rick Valve for franchise season goal record. William Nylander had a goal and an assist for Toronto.
Vancouver 5 – ARIZONA 1… Bo Horvat and Alex Chiasson each had two goals and an assist in leading the Canucks past the Coyotes. Elias Pettersson added a goal and two assists.
Edmonton 3 – LOS ANGELES 2… Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard each had an assist as the Oilers edged the Kings for their sixth straight win. The victory moved the Oilers three points ahead of L.A. for second place in the Pacific Division. Goalie Mike Smith made 30 shots.
Calgary 4 – SAN JOSE 2… Elias Lindholm netted a pair of goals as the Flames doubled up on the Sharks. Matthew Tkachuk scored a goal and assisted on two others. Dan Vladar stopped 31 shots at goal.
