NHL SCOREBOARD…
Toronto 6 – BOSTON 4… Auston Matthews scored his league-leading 49th goal and had an assist as the Maple Leafs outshot the Bruins. Morgan Rielly, Alexander Kerfoot and Mitchell Marner each had a goal and an assist. John Tavares added two assists.

TAMPA BAY 4 – Carolina 3 (OT)… Steven Stamkos scored a power-play goal 52 seconds into overtime to lift the Lightning over the Hurricanes. Stamkos set up two goals in regulation. Nikita Kucherov assisted on three goals.

FLORIDA 7 – Montreal 4…  Jonathan Huberdeau and Ryan Lomberg each scored two goals and had an assist in the Panthers’ win over the Canadiens. Sam Bennett and Aleksander Barkov each added a goal and an assist.

N.Y. Rangers 3 – PITTSBURGH 2… Chris Kreider netted his 45th goal in the third period and it proved decisive as the Rangers held off the Penguins. Frank Vatrano and Braden Schneider scored second-period goals.

N.Y. Islanders 4 – COLUMBUS 3… The Islanders held off the Blue Jackets to keep their playoff hopes alive. Brock Nelson scored his career-high 32nd goal. Josh Bailey, Anthony Beauvillier and Zach Parise also found the net. Goalie Semyon Varlamov made 42 saves.

NASHVILLE 4 – Ottawa 1… Michael McCarron found the net twice and the Predators skated past the Senators. Mattias Ekholm set up three goals. Juuse Saros made 36 saves at goal.

MINNESOTA 4 – Philadelphia 1… The Wild made it seven straight wins with their thumping of the Flyers. Four different players scored. Joel Eriksson Ek and Frederick Gaudreau each had two assists. Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury made 32 stops.

Colorado 2 – CALGARY 1… Valeri Nichushkin scored a pair of goals as the Avalanche came from behind to beat the Flames in a matchup of Western Conference division leaders. Devon Toews assisted on goth goals. Goalie Darcy Kuemper stopped 44 shots.

Dallas 3 – ANAHEIM 2… Roope Hintz netted a tying goal in the third period and Jacob Peterson added the go-ahead goal four minutes later as the Stars rallied past the Ducks. Radek Faksa opened the scoring with a first-period goal.
