NHL SCOREBOARD…
TORONTO 4 – Dallas 0… Erik Kallgren stopped all 35 shots to earn a shutout in his first NHL start and the Maple Leafs breezed past the Stars. John Tavares had a goal and an assist. Mitch Marner and Morgan Rielly had two assists apiece.
Arizona 6 – MONTREAL 3… Six different players found the net as the Coyotes doubled up on the Canadiens. The victory was Arizona’s fourth in five games.
N.Y. RANGERS 4 – Anaheim 3 (OT)… Adam Fox found the net 55 seconds into overtime to send the Rangers past the Ducks. Artemi Panarin had three assists and Fox added two more.
WASHINGTON 4 – N.Y. Islanders 3 (S0)… The Capitals outlasted the Islanders on night Alex Ovechkin scored his 767th goal to pass Jaromir Jagr for third on the NHL career list. He trails only Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe. Anthony Mantha opened the scoring with a first-period goal and netted the decisive goal in the shootout.
NASHVILLE 4 – Pittsburgh 1… The Predators skated past the Penguins for their fifth win in six games. Roman Josi had three assists. Colton Sissons set up two goals. Goalie Juuse Saros made 35 saves.
WINNIPEG 7 – Vegas 3… Kyle Connor extended his goal-scoring streak to five games and had two assists as the Jets cruised past the Golden Knights. Blake Wheeler, Mark Scheifele, Logan Stanley and Josh Morrissey each had a goal and an assist. Connor Hellebuyck made 35 saves at goal.
Boston 2 – CHICAGO 1 (OT)… Matt Grzelcyk’s goal at 1:40 of overtime sent the Bruins past the Blackhawks. Taylor Hall assisted on both Boston goals.
EDMONTON 7 – Detroit 5… The Oilers scored three goals without giving up a shot and fought their way past the Red Wings for their third straight win. Evander Kane found the net twice. Detroit has lost six straight.
VANCOUVER 6 – New Jersey 3… Bo Horvat and Tanner Pearson scored 17 seconds apart in the third period to give the Canucks the lead for good in their win over the Devils. Horvat added a short-handed goal in the third and had an assist. J.T. Miller set up three goals.
Colorado 3 – LOS ANGELES 0… Darcy Kuemper made 23 saves in his second straight shutout as the Avalanche blanked the Kings. Colorado got goals from Valeri Nichushkin, J.T. Compher and Mikko Rantanen.
Florida 3 – SAN JOSE 2 (OT)… Frank Vatrano scored a tying goal early in the third period and added the game-winer in overtime as the Panthers upended the Sharks. Spencer Knight stopped 24 shots at goal.
