Blues Fall To Jets

Winnipeg 4 – ST. LOUIS 3 (OT)… Pierre Luc-Dubois lit the lamp in overtime to lift the Jets over the Blues. Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele scored 1:03 seconds apart in the third period. Connor Hellebuyck made 28 saves at goal.

 

PITTSBURGH 4 – Carolina 2… The Penguins downed the Hurricanes for the first time in three tries. Zach Aston-Reese and Sidney Crosby put the game away with empty-net goals. Goalie Tristan Jarry stopped 41 shots.

BUFFALO 5 – Toronto 2… Vinnie Hinostroza found the net twice and had an assist as the Sabres skated past the Maple Leafs in a game played outdoors in Hamilton. Peyton Krebs also scored two goals. Craig Anderson made 36 saves at goal.

Montreal 4 – PHILADELPHIA 3 (OT)… Cole Caufield’s goal 2:10 into overtime gave the Canadiens a comeback win over the Flyers in a matchup of last-place clubs. Rem Pitlick netted a tying short-handed goal with 42.1 seconds left in regulation. Nick Suzuki scored twice on assists from Chris Wideman.

COLUMBUS 6 – Vegas 4… Eighteen-year-old rookie Cole Sillinger scored three goals to notch his first NHL hat trick and the Blue Jackets were too much for the Golden Nights. Oliver Bjorkstrand had a goal and two assists. Goalie Elvis Merzlikins stopped 23 shots.

Nashville 6 – MINNESOTA 2… Filip Forsberg and Roman Josi netted two goals apiece to lead the Predators past the Wild. Forsberg also had an assist, Philip Tomasino added a goal and an assist. Nick Cousins had a goal and two assists.

N.Y. ISLANDERS 4 – Anaheim 3… The Islanders got a pair of goals from Kyle Palmieri in edging the Ducks for their third straight win. Palmieri and Anders Lee scored 25 seconds apart late in the first period to give New York the lead for good. Goalie Ilya Sorokin stopped 39 shots.

COLORADO 3 – Calgary 0… Goalie Darcy Kuemper stopped all 46 shots in his fourth shutout of the season and the Avalanche breezed past the Flames. Nathan MacKinnon scored twice for Denver.

Tampa Bay 2 – VANCOUVER 1… Victor Hedman and Ross Colton scored early back-to-back goals and the Lightning made them stand in holding off the Canucks. Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy made 33 saves.

L.A. KINGS 3 – Florida 2 (SO)… Adrian Kempe and Trevor Moore scored in the tie-breaker to give the Kings a come-from-behind win over the Panthers. Martin Frk netted a tying power-play goal with 32 seconds left in regulation. Goalie Jonathan Quick sealed the win in his 700th game by denying Anthony Duclair’s shot during the fifth round of the shootout.
