Alissa Marie Anders

Alissa Marie Anders, 18 of Kirksville, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

The daughter of Kevin Lee Anders and Jennifer Lynn (Lay) Garrison, she was born on August 30, 2003 in Kirksville, Missouri. She attended Schuyler R-I Schools where she was a cheerleader and a member of the FFA chapter then attended the Columbia Central High School in Columbia, Tennessee.

Alissa is survived by her son, Kylan Leroy Anders of Missouri; her parents, Kevin Lee Anders of Glenwood, Missouri and Jennifer Lynn Garrison of Mission, Kansas; her siblings, Jessica Zuspann and husband, Jason of Green Castle, Missouri, Kelsey Martens and husband, Kevin of Kirksville, Missouri, Logan Garrison and wife, Shelby of Lancaster, Missouri, Shailyn Anders of Kirksville, Missouri, Devin Anders of Kirksville, Missouri, Troy Christiansen of Kirksville, Missouri and Larry Anders, Jr of Glenwood, Missouri; her grandmother, Shirley Anders of Glenwood, her great grandmother, Josephine Mathes of Queen City, Missouri; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

Alissa is preceded in death by her grandparents, Larry Anders, David Rew and Theresa Benton; two great grandfathers, Ray Anders and Glen Hurley; three uncles, Arthur, Roger and Laverne Hurley, one aunt, JoAnn Vice and one sister, Emily Paige Anders.

Alissa loved cheerleading, horses, her dog, Waylon, kids and loved to make way too many t-shirts and decals. She enjoyed family gatherings making everyone laugh by making facial expressions or making up words she did not know the meaning to. She was definitely a daddy’s girl.

Memorial services will be held on February 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Robin McCullar, Pastor of the Glenwood Assembly of God Church in Glenwood, Missouri officiating. Musical selections of “The Cowboy Hat” and “Dancing In The Sky” will be performed. Memorials have been established for the family.
