Tigers Bounce Hannibal

The Kirksville Tigers held on down the stretch and beat Hannibal 64-54 Saturday at Tiger Gym. KHS led by 20 at one point in the third quarter, but two back-to-back three’s by Hannibal’s Aaris Stolte at the start of the fourth quarter began to make things a bit more tense. In all, the Pirates would bury 5 three’s in the period. Forced to foul late in the game, Hannibal put the Tigers at the free throw line 8 times in the fourth, and KHS made seven of them. Isaac Danielson nailed four of them, his only points of the night. Keaton Anderson made two big ones, and Owen Fraser made his mark by coming down with two huge fourth quarter rebounds and subsequent buckets. Anderson led the way with 27 points, 16 of them in the second quarter, and was 7 for 7 at the stripe. The Tigers climb to 18-4 on the year, 6-3 in the NCMC. They will be part two of Tuesday’s Senior night double header against Marshall, coverage at 6:10.
