Habs Beat Blues

MONTREAL 3 – St. Louis 2 (OT)… Cole Caufield netted a tying goal with 8.7 seconds left in regulation and added the winning goal in overtime to lift the Canadiens over the Blues and end a 10-game skid. Samuel Montembeault stopped 26 shots at goal.

 

Detroit 3 – N.Y. RANGERS 2 (SO)… Pius Suter’s goal in the sixth round of the shootout gave the Red Wings a hard-fought win over the Rangers. Goalie Thomas Greiss made 37 saves.

Washington 5 – PHILADELPHIA 3… Garnet Hathaway scored the tying and go-ahead goals in a span of less than two minutes late in the third period to give the Capitals a come-from-behind win over the Flyers. Washington has won five in a row on the road.

TORONTO 4 – Pittsburgh 1… The Maple Leafs skated past the Penguins despite being outshot 46-29. Morgan Rielly and Auston Matthews each had a goal and an assist. Goalie Jack Campbell stopped 45 shots.

Ottawa 3 – BUFFALO 1… Austin Watson scored a tie-breaking goal in the third period and the Senators also got goals from Zach Sanford and Brady Tkachuk in their win over the Sabres. Nick Holden had two assists.

N.Y. ISLANDERS 4 – Boston 1… The Islanders handled the Bruins to snap their three-game skid. Noah Dobson, Mathew Barza and Brock Nelson each had a goal and an assist. Goalie Ilya Sorokin made 26 saves.

WINNIPEG 5 – Seattle 3… Josh Morrissey netted the tie-breaking goal with 6:10 left in the third period and Kyle Connor added an empty-netter at the buzzer as the Jets put away the Kraken. Dylan DeMelo set up two goals.

Columbus 7 – CHICAGO 4… Patrik Laine scored three goals and the Blue Jackets outshot the Blackhawks. Boone Jenner, Yegor Chinakhov and Max Domi each had a goal and assist. Goalie Elvis Merzlikins made 28 saves.

EDMONTON 7 – Anaheim 3…  Leon Draisaitl found the net twice and the Oilers cruised past the Ducks. Connor McDavid and Ryan McLeod each had a pair of assists. Goalie Mike Smith made 27 saves.

Vancouver 5 – SAN JOSE 4 (OT)… The Canucks recovered to outlast the Sharks after blowing a pair of two goals leads. J.T. Miller scored the game-winner at 2:21 of overtime. Quinn Hughes had a goal and an assist. Elias Pettersson set up two goals.
