Buffalo 5 – MONTREAL 3… Jeff Skinner scored two unanswered goals in the third period to cap a four-goal performance and the Sabres downed the Canadiens to snap a three-game winless streak. Skinner also had an assist. Alex Tuch set up three goals.
Ottawa 4 – WASHINGTON 1… Brady Tkachuk and Connor Brown each had a goal and an assist as Senators cruised past the Capitals. Chris Tierney had two assists. Goalie Anton Forsberg made 33 saves.
Pittsburgh 4 – NEW JERSEY 2… Brian Boyle scored the tie-breaking goal early in the third period and the Penguins put away the Devils for their third straight win. Tristan Jarry made 28 saves at goal.
Colorado 4 – DALLAS 0… Darcy Kuemper stopped all 23 shots for his second shutout this season and the Avalanche breezed past the Stars and ran their franchise-record point streak to 19 games. Gabriel Landeskog found the net twice. Cole Makar had two assists.
