Mary “Lucille” Frazee, age 94, of Smithton, Missouri, formerly of Knox County, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in Overland Park, KS. She was born July 20, 1927 in East Bonne Terre, MO. Lucille was married to Bill Frazee June 7, 1947 at Bee Ridge Methodist Church in Edina, MO. Her parents were Otto John and Minnie Marie (Duschl) Kirschner who preceded her in death. Lucille was preceded in death by husband Bill, two sisters Josephine Kirschner and Pauline (Kirschner) Glasener, two brothers John Kirschner and Robert Kirschner, one nephew Jim Hunolt, one niece Barbara Joann Estes, great granddaughter and great grandson Persophone and Pierce McFarland.
Surviving are six children: Linda Page and husband Dan of Smithton, MO, Marie Hern and husband Kyle of Kansas City, MO, Bill Frazee Jr. and wife Sharon of Fulton, MO, Barbara Trump of Rolla, MO, Judy Schmidt and husband Leroy of Greenwood, MO, and John Frazee and wife Holly of Smithton, MO. Grandma Frazee is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, Sara Page, Brad Page and spouse Callie, Emily Curtis and spouse Michael, Nathan Horak-Hern and spouse Melissa, Lindy Hern, Jonathan Hern, Elise Bartley and spouse Tucker, Eric Frazee, Felicia Wilson and spouse Mel, Elizabeth Schmidt, Rebekah Seale and spouse Elliott, Leah Slack and spouse JaRaine, Aaron Frazee, Andrew Frazee, and Caitlin Frazee. GG will also be missed by eighteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lucille is also survived by brother-in-law Jim Frazee and wife Ginny of Ankeny, IA.
Lucille graduated High School from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in Jonesboro, IL in May 1946. Through a chance meeting of Lucille’s soldier brother John and another soldier, Bill Frazee, Lucille began a pen pal relationship which ended in a wedding June 7, 1947. It was a marriage that lasted 61 years.
She was a former member of Bee Ridge and Edina United Methodist Churches, and a member of Smithton UMC.
Lucille devoted her life to her God, her husband, her family, her Albert (Pujols) and beloved St. Louis Cardinals, her grandkids and great grandkids, and their activities. She was a fixture at Knox County Eagles games during her children’s growing up years, and Smithton Tiger games during her time living in Smithton, MO. Lucille was an avid Karen Kingsbury reader and loved a good Hallmark movie (is there a bad one?). She supported several Christian organizations by adopting children from their childhood into their adulthood.
Lucille, Mom, Grandma, GG, your compassion and unconditional love for others has been evident all the way down through your great grandkids. We have all experienced, felt, witnessed, and observed what a life serving God and loving others looks like. You have loved us all well and we will be honored to continue your legacy.
Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the Edina United Methodist Church. Officiating the service will be the Reverend Jason Veale and the Reverend Kyle Hern. Casket Bearers will be grandsons Nathan Horak-Hern, Jon Hern, Brad Page, Eric Frazee, Aaron Frazee and Andrew Frazee. Honorary Casket Bearers will be granddaughters Sara Page, Emily Curtis, Lindy Hern, Elise Bartley, Felicia Wilson, Elizabeth Schmidt, Rebekah Seale, Leah Slack, and Caitlin Frazee. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, at the Edina United Methodist Church in Edina, MO.
