Jewel See, 86, of Rutledge, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022, at the LaBelle Manor Care in LaBelle, Missouri.
She was born on January 4, 1936, near Knox City, Missouri, the daughter of Fred and Nellie Rae House Ewalt.
She attended Island Rural School northeast of Knox City, Missouri and graduated from the Knox City High School in Knox City, Missouri in the Class of 1953. She went on to attend Gem City Business School in Quincy, Illinois and worked for Moorman Feeds.
On May 24, 1957, in New London, Missouri, Jewel married William Dean “Bill” See and they celebrated 50 years together on the farm near Colony, Missouri.
They were members of the Colony United Methodist Church until it closed at which time Bill and Jewel transferred their membership to the Colony Baptist Church and Jewel was currently a member of the Edina Methodist Church in Edina, Missouri.
Jewel belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, Colony Chapter #543, receiving her 50 year pin, and the Knox City American Legion Auxiliary #358.
They lived their life in the Colony area where they were engaged in farming. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Jewel is survived by three sons, William Clay and wife Susan See of LaBelle, Missouri, Edward Dean and wife Charlene See of Gorin, Missouri, and Allan A. and wife Twilla See of Colony, Missouri; two daughters, Linda Carol and her husband David Norman of Kirksville, Missouri and Leah See of Desert Hot Springs, California; eight grandchildren, Patrick and Darlene Goucher of Machesney, Illinois, Timothy and Vicki Lynn See of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Nathen and Jen See of Novelty, Missouri, Jennifer and husband Justin Wheeler of Crystal River, Florida, Aaron Gibb of Desert Hot Springs, California, Maggie and Nick Brenizer of Osage Beach, Missouri and Emily and Aaron Stark of Ewing, Missouri; seventeen great grandchildren, Hannah, Morgan, and Parker See, Nora and Tate Stark, Bronson and Vander Gibb, Aubree and Beau Brenizer, Paisley, Liam, and Sawyer See, Gwyneth and Olivia Wheeler, Holden, Knox and Jonas Goucher; a brother, Roy Lee Ewalt of Galesburg, Illinois; four sisters-in-law, Wilma Mauck, Barbara Ewalt, Betty Ewalt, and Deloris Kincaid; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Jewel was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Nellie Rae Ewalt; husband William Dean “Bill” See; a son, Stephen See; a grandson, Will See; brothers, Byron and his two wives, Eva Ewalt and Euvanah Ewalt, John Arthur Ewalt, Charles William Ewalt, Garland ”Bud” Ewalt, and Albert Earl Ewalt; sisters, Roberta and Ralph Agee, Anna Louise Ewalt in infancy, Carol and Oscar Pemberton, and Alice and Roger Gipson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
Visitation will be Friday, January 28, 2022, after 4:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. A Eastern Star Service, by Colony O.E.S. Lodge #543, will be Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be in the Colony Cemetery in Colony, Missouri.
Pastor Steve Jarvis will officiate. Casket Bearers will be her grandsons, Patrick Goucher, Timothy See, Aaron Gibb, Nathen See, Nick Brenizer, Aaron Stark, Justin Wheeler, and Holden Goucher.
