Lady Tigers Crush Mexico

The Kirksville Lady Tigers put their foot on the gas and never let up in a big NCMC road win over Mexico 55-28 Friday. KHS opened with a 9-0 lead thanks to three 3-pointers by Channing Totta. Mexico got to within 7 points in the second quarter but Corinne Vorkink found her inside game and scored 8 points in the 2nd as Kirksville took a 34-17 lead into the locker room and Mexico never threatened. The Kirksville defense forced 20 turnovers, while committing only 10 of their own. Totta finished with 16 points to lead all scorers, Vorkink had 12. KHS climbs to 5-1 in the NCMC and 16-2 overall. Next, the Lady Tigers are scheduled to hit the road again Wednesday at Palmyra. Coverage begins at 5:45.
