KHS Tigers Hold Off Harrisburg

The Kirksville Tigers advanced to the championship game of the Macon Tournament, holding off a big, athletic Harrisburg team 60-56 Wednesday. KHS led by 20 early in the 4th quarter and looked to have the game well in hand before Harrisburg’s Tanner Lanes drained three huge three-pointers to go along with another big three from Braydon Ott to whittle the lead down to three points 59-56. Big free throws from Camden Dempsay coupled with a game clinching free throw by Isaac Danielson helped KHS hang on 60-56. Danielson finished with 22 points and was 5 for 5 at the free throw line. Keaton Anderson had 19 points. The Tigers climb to 14-1 on the year and will take on Mexico for the boys championship Saturday at 5:30. Coverage of the girls and boys championship games starts at 3:45 on KIRX back over at Macon High School.
