Bulldog Women Escape Miners

Katey Klucking scored a game-high 14 points including clutch free throws in the waining minutes as the Truman Women’s Basketball team survived a fourth quarter rally by Missouri S&T 71-63.

It was all Truman early as they stormed out to a 21-5 first quarter lead, scoring 16 straight points and capitalized on 2-of-10 S&T shooting and seven turnovers.

The Bulldogs led by as many as 18 (51-33) with under a minute to go in the third quarter.

S&T scored the first 13 points in the fourth quarter and closed the gap to four on a three-pointer by Marta Durk.

But the Bulldogs hang on for the win.

Truman (9-5; 5-1 GLVC) will look for the season sweep as they encounter Maryville University on Saturday in Chesterfield, Missouri at 1:00.
