Ervan Eugene Dolan, 77 years old, of Green Castle, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
Ervan was born July 28, 1944, in Moline, Illinois to Robert and Elveeta (Neely) Dolan. On April 5, 1965, in the Quad Cities he married Naomi (Detherage) Dolan, she survives of the home. He is also survived by two sons, Greg Dobrinske and wife Dana of Green Castle and Ervan R. Dolan and wife Teresa of Green Castle; grandchildren, Austin Dobrinske and wife Becca, April Dobrinske, Shelby Dolan and fiancé Matt Fox, Shawnee Adams and husband Michael; a great grandson, Marshall Dobrinske; and several nieces and nephews.
Ervan was preceded in death by: His parents; a brother, Hubert Dolan; and two sisters, Helen (Tootie) Bartz and Almeta Haggerman.
Ervan graduated from United Township High School in Moline, Illinois. After graduating he worked at John Deere, the State of Illinois Highway Department, the City of Moline, and at International Harvesters as a mechanic. Ervan moved from the Quad Cities where he grew up to Green Castle in 1975. After moving to Green Castle, he worked for Alan True doing mechanic work while also farming. After retiring Ervan worked on small engines and lawn mowers. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers, going hunting and fishing, playing pool and shuffleboard. Everyone knew it was Spring when they saw Erv sitting at the picnic table in the front yard.
A visitation for Ervan will be held 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Friday, December 24, 2021 at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City with a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Green Castle Cemetery.
