KHS Tigers Rally To Beat Centralia

The Kirksville Tigers came from ten points behind in the second half to win by ten over Centralia 53-43 Thursday at Tiger Gym. Kirksville had a rough first half, scoring just 4 points in the 2nd quarter, trailed by ten in the 3rd, then flipped the switch midway through the third, finally taking advantage of numerous Centralia turnovers. KHS outscored the Panthers 19-7 in the 3rd, and 14-6 in the fourth, thanks to a great efforts by Drew Chrisman and Freshman Cole Kelly. Kelly hit a couple of huge three’s in the fourth period, while Chrisman scored 8 of his 14 points in the fourth, including a pivotal steal and layup late in the game. Centralia’s Beau Gordon led all scorers with 21 points, Keaton Anderson led KHS with 16, Kelly 13, and Chrisman with 12. The Tigers get to 2-0 on the year and will next host Monroe City Saturday afternoon as part of a varsity double header which starts at 1:00. Coverage on KIRX at 12:45.
