The Centralia Lady Panthers beat the Kirksville Lady Tigers in a tough game 41-40 at Tiger Gym Thursday. KHS trailed 20-15 at the break, but outscored Centralia 15-9 in the 3rd to take a one point lead 30-29. Kirksville led by five late in the fourth, but Centralia fought back, courtesy of a monster three pointer by Sophomore Morgan Ross, another 3 by Jozelyn Bostick and two big free throws by Harper Sontheimer. KHS had a chance to win it with four seconds to play, but a three point attempt by Jenna Jackson was tipped, the ball was picked up by Centralia and the clock ran out. Ross finished with 13 points to lead all scorers. Channing Totta led Kirksville with 9 on a night in which the Lady Tigers had trouble getting their inside game going against a tough defense. KHS dips to 1-1 on the season and will host another Clarence Cannon opponent Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
