Judy Harris

Julia “Judy” Frances (Bray) Harris, 83, of Greentop, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Born December 28, 1937 in Kirksville, Missouri, Judy was the daughter of the late Alva and Doris (Vail) Bray. On March 27, 1953 in Kirksville, Missouri, Judy was united in marriage to James Wilbur “J.W.” Harris who preceded her in death after sixty-four years of marriage on November 3, 2020. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Clinton James Harris; one brother, Jerry Bray; and one sister, Edith Fox.

Judy is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Bobby and Darlene Harris of Memphis, MO, Rusty Harris and Lonnie Harris both of Kirksville, MO, and Laddy and Tammy Harris of Exner, MO; seven grandchildren, Natasha, Amanda, Justin, Dustin, Austin, Ron, and J.W.; as well as eleven great-grandchildren, Holly, Justice, Keidyn, Ryker, Stella, Hattie, Isaac, Lucas, Lexie, Langston, and Emmett.

Judy attended Troy Mills grade school and was a graduate of Kirksville High School. Judy was employed a number of years at Florsheim Shoe Factory, in food service at Truman State University, and last as a waitress at Rosie’s Northtown Cafe.

Judy was devoted to her family and was proud of raising four boys. She had a great love of horses and trail riding. She enjoyed participating in rodeo queen contests. Judy was a hard worker and loved cooking for her family and friends. She was active in NEMO Trail Riders and Northeast Missouri Pulling Association.

Judy will be remembered for her generous donations to several organizations, for having lots of friends, for her outgoing personality, and for never meeting a stranger.

Public visitation will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021 from noon to 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville with Pastor Ruthie Sears officiating. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Jewel Cemetery, northwest of Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be her four sons, Bobby, Rusty, Lonnie, and Laddy Harris, her grandson, Justin Harris, and Rick Bleything. Honorary Pallbearers will be Freddie Bailey, Laddie Robinson, Darrell Hill, Joe Miller, Larry Evans, and Andrew Shultz.
