Predators Drop Blues

Nashville 4 – ST. LOUIS 3 (OT)… Matt Duchene’s second goal of the game came 2:01 into overtime and lifted the Predators over the Blues. Yakov Trenin and St. Louis native Luke Kunin also scored for Nashville.

 

Edmonton 5 – BOSTON 3… Leon Draisaitl scored two goals and assisted on another in leading the Oilers past the Bruins. Goalie Mikko Koskinen stopped 26 shots.

MONTREAL 4 – Calgary 2…  Nick Suzuki scored a tie-breaking power-play goal in the  third period to help push the Canadiens past the Flames. Jake Allen made 24 saves at goal.

Los Angeles 2 – OTTAWA 0…  Goalie Jonathan Quick stopped all 34 shots as the Kings blanked the short-handed Senators. L.A. got goals from Anze Kopitar and Andreas Athanasiou. Ottawa has nine players and an assistant coach in the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol.

NEW JERSEY 4 – N.Y. Islanders 0… Goalie Mackenzie Blackwood made a season-high 42 saves for his seventh career shutout and the Devils breezed past the Islanders. Janne Kuokkanen scored a short-handed goal and Tomas Tatar scored off a power play.

PITTSBURGH 3 – Florida 2 (SO)…  Jeff Carter scored the decisive goal in a shootout as the. Penguins downed the Panthers.nEvan Rodrigues and Teddy Blueger scored in regulation for Pittsburgh

Washington 2 – DETROIT 0… Capitals goalie Zach Fucale stopped 21 shots to blank the Red Wings in his NHL debut. Dmitry Orlov and Lars Eller scored 10 seconds apart in the first period for Washington.

WINNIPEG 4 – San Jose 1… Nate Schmidt broke a second-period tie with his first goal for Winnipeg and the The Jets cruised past a Sharks team that was missing seven players and coach Bob Boughner due to COVID-19 protocol. Pierre-Luc Dubois had a goal and assist. Connor Hellebuyck made 27 saves at goal.

COLORADO 7 – Vancouver 1…  Mikko Rantanen scored a goal and set up two others to lead the Avalanche in their pounding of the Canucks. Logan O’Connor and Devon Toews each added a goal and an assist.

VEGAS 3 – Minnesota 2… The Golden Knights took a three-goal lead into the third period and held off the Wild. Paul Cotter and Jonas Rondbjerg netted their first NHL goals. Vegas was also 6 for 6 with its penalty kill.

Anaheim 7 – SEATTLE 4… Troy Terry had two goals and an assist in extending his NHL-leading scoring streak to 13 games and the Ducks outshot the Kraken to win their sixth in a row. Josh Mahura added a pair of goals.
