Fannie Joan Hamlin, age 85, of Edina, MO, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021, in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. She was born October 5, 1936, in Knox County, MO, the daughter of Carl Roosevelt and Hallie Marie Little Kiesow.
She was united in marriage to Orval B. (Pat) Hustead and he preceded her in death. To this union three daughters were born. On July 29, 1963 in Edina, MO she was married to Ray Wayne Hamlin and he preceded her in death on October 1, 2005. Joan was also preceded by her parents, one sister Helen Fern Karhoff, one step son Leonard Hamlin, and one great granddaughter Sawyer Barnhill.
Surviving are three daughters, Sharon (Rene) Johnson of Paullina, IA, Terry (Mike) Schrage of Edina, MO, and Merry (Robert) Ward of Edina, MO, a step daughter, Linda Sue (Tom) Vozza of Kirksville, MO, one sister Hazel Arlene (Pat) Haffarnan of Davenport, IA, ten grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joan graduated from Baring High School. She was employed for 37 years with the Edina Glove Factory. She also sold Avon for 34 years and Stanley products for 17 years.
She was a member of the Edina United Methodist Church and Knox County Memorial Post # 4822 Ladies Auxiliary and was a volunteer at Knox County Nutrition Site.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Graig Connell will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Linville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Chris Lawson, Robert Ward, Buster Ray Schrage, Seth Johnson, Barry Schrage and Elijah Ward. Honorary bearers will be Joey Hintz, Melissa Brown, Shawna Johnson, Sarah Huffman, Becky Barnhill, Brent Karhoff, Brenda Stansberry, and Teresa Mason.
Visitation will be held Friday, from 12 noon till time of services at 2 p.m. at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
