N.Y. Rangers 3 – SEATTLE 1… Third-period goals by Adam Fox and Barclay Goodrow carried the Rangers past the Kraken. Goodrow set up Chris Kreider’s first-period goal to open the scoring.

CAROLINA 2 – Arizona 1… Defenseman Brett Pesce scored a power-play goal with 2:27 remaining to lift the Hurricanes over the winless Coyotes and keep Carolina’s record perfect at 8-0-0. Martin Necas had a goal and an assist. Goalie Frederik Andersen stopped 22 shots in his seventh win.

ANAHEIM 4 – Montreal 2… Troy Terry and Sam Carrick scored third-period goals as the Ducks put away the Canadiens. Ryan Getzlaf assisted on Terry’s go-ahead goal to become Anaheim’s career points leader.

LOS ANGELES 4 – Buffalo 2…  The Kings came from two goals down in the second period to upend the Sabres. Alex Iafallo scored the tie-breaking goal with 6:19 to play. Anze Kopitar had a goal and an assist.

Columbus 4 – NEW JERSEY 3 (SO)… Jakub Voracek scored the lone goal in a shootout to send the Blue Jackets past the Devils for their first road victory of the season. Joonas Korpisalo stopped 39 shots at goal.
