NFL SCORES…
Carolina 19 – ATLANTA 13… The Panthers (4-4) cranked it up defensively in downing the Falcons (3-4), holding Atlanta to 213 yards total offense. Zane Gonzalez kicked four field goals. Chuba Hubbard ran 6 yards with 6 1/2 minutes for the decisive score. The win snapped Carolina’s four-game losing streak.

BUFFALO 26 – Miami 11… The Bills (5-2) came alive in the second half to shake off the Dolphins (1-7) in a contest that was tied 3-3 at the half. Buffalo scored 23 points on their final four possessions. Josh Allen threw for two scores and ran for another. Cole Beasley had 10 catches for 110 yards.

San Francisco 33 – CHICAGO 22… Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 322 yards and ran for a pair of touchdowns in leading the 49ers (3-4) past the short-handed Bears (3-5) for their first win in five games. Elijah Mitchell carried 18 times for 137 yards and a touchdown. Deebo Samuel had six receptions for 171 yards.

Pittsburgh 15 – CLEVELAND 10…. The Steelers (4-3) grinded out a win over the Browns (4-4) despite an injury to kicker Chris Boswell that left them unable to attempt field goals in the second half. Ben Roethlisberger threw a 2-yard go-ahead touchdown pass to rookie Pat Freiermuth on fourth down with 11:04 left.

Philadelphia 44 – DETROIT 6… Boston Scott and Jordan Howard each ran for two touchdowns to lead the Eagles (3-5) in their romp over the Lions (0-8). Philadelphia ran for 236 yards.

Tennessee 34 – INDIANAPOLIS 31 (OT)… The Titans (6-2) outlasted the Colts (3-5) after spotting them a two-touchdown second-quarter lead. Randy Bullock booted a game-winning 44-yard field goal in overtime. The winning kick was set up by a Kevin Byard interception in Indianapolis territory. The two teams traded touchdowns in the final 1:26 of regulations. Ryan Tannehill passed for 265 yards and hit three different receivers with scoring tosses.

N.Y. JETS 34 – Cincinnati 31… Mike White made the most of his first NFL start, throwing for 405 yards and three touchdowns in leading the Jets (2-5) to a come-from-behind win over the Bengals (5-3). White also caught a 2-point conversion pass on the go-ahead score with 3:45 remaining.

L.A. Rams 38 – HOUSTON 22… Matthew Stafford threw for 305 yards and three touchdowns before sitting out the fourth quarter as the Rams (7-1) dominated the Texans (1-7). Cooper Kupp had seven catches for 115 yards and a score. Darrell Henderson ran for two TDs.

New England 27 – L.A. CHARGERS 24… Safety Adrian Phillips returned the second of his two interceptions 26 yards for the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter to help the Patriots (4-4) top the Chargers (4-3). Nick Folk kicked four field goals to 48 yards.

SEATTLE 31 – Jacksonville 7… Geno Smith completed 20 of 24 for 195 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Seahawks (3-5) cruised past the Jaguars (1-6). DK Metcalf hauled in two TD passes. Tyler Lockett had 12 catches for 142 yards.

DENVER 17 – Washington 10… The Broncos (4-4) came up big defensively in holding of Washington (2-6) to snap a four-game skid. Justin Simmons intercepted two passes and Denver blocked two field goal attempts. Melvin Gordon III caught a touchdown pass and ran for the go-ahead score from 7 yards out with 4:27 remaining.

NEW ORLEANS 36 – Tampa Bay 27… The Saints (5-2) recovered to beat the Buccaneers (6-2) after blowing a 16-point lead and losing starting quarterback Jameis Winston to a knee injury. P.J. Williams intercepted a Tom Brady pass and returned it 40 yards for the clinching score touchdown with 1:24 remaining. Trevor Siemian replaced Winston in the second quarter and led New Orleans on five scoring drives.

Dallas 20 – MINNESOTA 16… Cooper Rush stepped in for injured quarterback Dak Prescott and passed for 325 yards and two second-half touchdowns in leading the Cowboys (6-1) past the Vikings (3-4). Rush found Amari Cooper with a go-ahead 5-yard scoring toss with 51 seconds left.
