NATIONAL LEAGUE
San Francisco 6 – SAN DIEGO 5… The Giants came from three runs down to upend the Padres and stay a game ahead of the second-place L.A. Dodgers in the NL West race. LaMonte Wade, Jr., delivered a tie-breaking RBI single in the top of the ninth inning. Tommy La Stella homered in the first for San Francisco.

L.A. Dodgers 5 – COLORADO 4 (10 innings)… Albert Pujols singled home Gavin Lux with a tie-breaking run in the top of the 10th inning and the Dodgers made it stand in outlasting the Rockies for their ninth win in 10 games.

St. Louis 2 – MILWAUKEE 1… The Cardinals held off the Brewers to win their 10th in a row and move four games ahead of Cincinnati in the race for the NL’s second wild-card spot. Jake Woodford (3-3) pitched two-hit ball over five scoreless innings. Tyler O’Neill lifted a sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning and Tommy Edman singled home the decisive run in the eighth for St. Louis.

Pittsburgh 6 – CINCINNATI 2… Ben Gamel homered, Ke’Bryan Hayes went 3-for-4 with an RBI and the Pirates topped the Reds. Mitch Keller (5-11) allowed two runs on seven hits over 5-2/3 innings.

Atlanta 6 – ARIZONA 1… Austin Riley and Ozzie Albies smacked two-run homers as the Braves cruised past the Diamondbacks. Jorge Soler added a solo homer for Atlanta, which remained three games ahead of second-place Philadelphia in the NL East.

Washington 7 – MIAMI 1… Josh Rogers (2-0) held the Marlins to a run on five hits over 7-1/2 innings and the Nationals cruised to the win. Juan Soto and Keibert Ruiz each had a couple of hits and an RBI.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
DETROIT 5 – Chi. White Sox 3… Akil Baddoo and Victor Reyes drove in two runs apiece as Tigers handled the White Sox and kept Chicago’s magic number for clinching the AL Central at two games. Reyes had four of Detroit’s 16 hits.

Toronto 4 – TAMPA BAY 2… The Blue Jays fought off the Rays to maintain their a half-game lead over the N.Y. Yankees in the race for the second AL wild card. Alek Manoah (7-2) allowed two runs on five hits over six innings. Bo Bichette lifted a tie-breaking sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning. Lourdes Gurriel, Jr., homered to lead off the fifth for Toronto.

N.Y. YANKEES 7 – Texas 1… The Yankees continued their hunt for a playoff spot by breezing past the Rangers. Aaron Judge blasted a three-run homer. Giancarlo Stanton and Joey Gallo also went deep. Jordan Montgomery (6-6) surrendered a run on four hits over 5-2/3 innings.

Seattle 5 – OAKLAND 2… Marco Gonzales (9-5) limited the Athletics to two runs on four hits over six innings en route to winning his eighth straight decision and the Mariners moved into a tie with Oakland in the race for the AL’s second wild card. Both teams trail Toronto by three games J.P. Crawford had three hits, including a two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning. Dylan Moore legged out a two-run triple.

Houston 10 – L.A. ANGELS 5… Aledmys Díaz and Kyle Tucker hit back-to-back homers and drove in three runs apiece as the Astros doubled up on the Angels and trimmed their magic number for clinching the AL West title to four games. Jose Altuve hit a two-run homer and Martin Maldonado added a solo shot.

CLEVELAND 4 – Kansas City 1… Yu Chang cleared the bases with a triple in the top of the first inning and the Indians never looked back in their win over the Royals. Cal Quantrill (7-3) allowed just a run on seven hits over 6-2/3 innings.

INTERLEAGUE
PHILADELPHIA 3 – Baltimore 2… J.T. Realmuto came through with a two-out, two-run triple in the bottom of the 10th inning to send the Phillies past the Orioles. The victory kept Philadelphia’s postseason hopes alive as it remains in contention for a division title and chases three teams for the second NL wild-card spot.

BOSTON 6 – N.Y. Mets 3… Xander Bogaerts homered with a runner aboard in the bottom of the fifth inning and added a two-run double in the sixth to lead Red Sox past the Mets for their sixth straight. Kiké Hernández also homered for Boston.

Minnesota 9 – CHI. CUBS 5… Nick Gordon went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and the Twins got also three hits and two RBIs each from Josh Donaldson and Max Kepler in downing the Cubs. Mitch Garver had three hits and drove in a run.
