NATIONAL LEAGUE
L.A. Dodgers 8 – CINCINNATI 5… Gavin Lux and Corey Seager each hit two-run homers and the Dodgers downed the Reds to move within a game of first-place San Francisco in the NL West. Will Smith also went deep for L.A. Clayton Kershaw (10-7) allowed a run on three hits over five innings.

Atlanta 3 – SAN FRANCISCO 0… Max Fried (12-7) allowed just three hits over seven innings and the Braves blanked the Giants to end their four-game skid and move two games ahead of second-place Philadelphia in the NL East. Eddie Rosario went 4-for-4 and became the second Atlanta player in a month to hit for the cycle, following Freddie Freeman.

ST. LOUIS 8 – San Diego 7… The Cardinals opened with a five-run bottom of the first inning and held off the Padres to win their eighth straight and open up a three-game lead over Cincinnati for the second NL wild card. Edmundo Sosa stroked a pair of run-scoring doubles. Harrison Bader doubled home a pair of runs.

N.Y. METS 3 – Philadelphia 2… Jeff McNeil led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a tie-breaking homer and the Mets made it stand in beating the Phillies to snap a five-game losing streak. Dominic Smith’s two-run double tied the game in the fifth.

Chi. Cubs 6 – MILWAUKEE 4… The Cubs hung on to top the Brewers or the first time in 12 tries. Patrick Wisdom’s three-run homer capped a five-run top of the eighth inning. Trayce Thompson also homered for Chicago.

WASHINGTON 3 – Colorado 0… Paolo Espino (5-5) held the Rockies to three hits over 5-2/3 innings and five relievers completed the shutout of the Rockies. Juan Soto homered for Washington.

MIAMI 6 – Pittsburgh 5… Lewin Díaz’s two-run homer to lead off the bottom of the 10th inning powered the Marlins past the Pirates. Bryan De La Cruz’s RBI single in the ninth forced the extra inning.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
BOSTON 8 – Baltimore 6… The White Sox came up with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to upend the Orioles for their fifth straight win and remain a game ahead of Toronto in the race for a wild-card spot. Kiké Hernández sparked the rally with an RBI single and scored the go-ahead run on Hunter Renfroe’s double. Hernandez also doubled home a run in the second. J.D. Martinez had a solo homer and Kevin Plawecki lined a two-run single for Boston, which leads Toronto by one game and the Yankees by 2-1/2 games in the playoff chase.

TORONTO 5 – Minnesota 2… Blue Jays starter José Berríos (12-8) held his former team to three runs on four hits over 6-2/3 innings. Bo Bichette homered with a runner aboard during a five-run bottom of the first inning. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had three hits and an RBI.

Cleveland 11 – N.Y. YANKEES 1… Harold Ramírez hit a pair of two-run singles and drove in a career-high four runs as the Indians walloped the Yankees. José Ramírez had four hits, including his 35th homer. Rookie Eli Morgan (3-7) allowed a run on six hits over six innings.

Detroit 2 – TAMPA BAY 0… Wily Peralta limited the AL East-leading Rays to three hits over seven innings and two relievers preserved the shutout. Eric Haase and Dustin Garneau homered for the Tigers.

Chi. White Sox 7 – TEXAS 2… The White Sox cruised past the Rangers and lowered their magic number for clinching the AL Central division title to four games. Lucas Giolito surrendered a run on six hits over 5-1/3 innings. Yasmani Grandal homered for the second game in a row. Cesar Hernandez and Jose Abreu stroked two-run singles. Leury Garcia added a two-run double.

Seattle 7 – KANSAS CITY 1… Rookie Jarred Kelenic homered, doubled twice and knocked in three runs to lead the Mariners past the Royals. Logan Gilbert (6-5) allowed a run on three hits over seven innings.

Oakland 3 – L.A. ANGELS 2 (10 innings)… The Athletics recovered to outlast the Angels after blowing a two-run ninth-inning lead. Jed Lowie’s sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th inning scored Matt Olson with the go-ahead run. Matt Chapman homered for Oakland.

INTERLEAGUE
HOUSTON 7 – Arizona 6… Jose Siri belted a game-tying two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning and Chas McCormick followed with a decisive blast as the Astros came from behind to beat the Diamondbacks. Carlos Correa also went deep for Houston.
