MLB Scores Tuesday 9-7

MLB SCOREBOARD…
N.Y. Mets 9 – MIAMI 4… Francisco Lindor’s two-run single capped a three-run top of the sixth inning that snapped a 4-all tie and sent the Mets past the Marlins. Pete Alonso blasted his 100th career homer with a runner aboard in the top of the first inning and added a solo shot in the ninth.

ATLANTA 8 – Washington 5… Ozzie Albies belted a tie-breaking, two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning and finished with four RBIs in the Braves’ win over the Nationals. Adam Duvall staked Atlanta to an early lead with a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning.

Cincinnati 4 – CHI. CUBS 3… Wade Miley (12-5) held the Cubs to a run on five hits over seven innings and the Reds held of the Cubs. Jonathan India homered to lead off the game and Nick Castellanos added a solo shot two batters later. Mike Moustakas and Kyle Farmer produced run-scoring singles in the eighth.

MILWAUKEE 10 – Philadelphia 0… Eric Lauer (5-5) pitched four-hits ball over seven innings and got plenty of support in the Brewers’ blanking of the Phillies. Avisaíl García hit a two-run homer and Eduardo Escobar knocked in three runs.

L.A. Dodgers 7 – ST. LOUIS 2… Justin Turner homered twice and drove in three runs as the Dodgers pulled away from the Cardinals. Albert Pujols also homered in his return to Busch Stadium and Will Smith smacked a solo shot.

San Francisco 12 – COLORADO 3… The Giants thrashed the Rockies to maintain their one-game lead over the Dodgers atop the NL West. Mike Yastrzemski hit a two-run homer and singled home a run. Steven Duggar legged out a bases-clearing triple.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Minnesota 3 – CLEVELAND 0… John Gant (5-9) pitched three-hit ball over five innings and four Twins relievers completed the shutout of the Indians. The pitchers combined on a seven-hitter and racked up 13 strikeouts. Brent Rooker homered for Minnesota.

BALTIMORE 7 – Kansas City 3… DJ Stewart hit a two-run homer to cap a four-run bottom of the first inning and the Orioles cruised past the Royals.  Austin Hays added a two-run blast in the third and Cedric Mullins connected for the third consecutive game.

Toronto 5 – N.Y. YANKEES 1… The Blue Jays rolled past the Yankees for their sixth straight win. Alejandro Kirk hit a pair of solo homers. Marcus Semien also went deep. Steven Matz (11-7) allowed a run on seven hits over six innings.

Tampa Bay 12 – BOSTON 7… Nelson Cruz went 4-for-5 with a pair of homers and four RBIs in leading the Rays past the Red Sox. At 41 years old, Cruz became the oldest player in major league history to hit 30 home runs in a season,. Mike Zunino also homered twice for Tampa Bay and Jordan Luplow belted a three-run shot. Drew Rasmussen (2-1) surrendered a run on six hits over five innings.

HOUSTON 5 – Seattle 4 (10 innings)… Carlos Correa’s ground-rule double in the bottom of the 10th inning scored automatic runner Yuli Gurriel with the winning run as the Astros outlasted the Mariners. Alex Bregman forced the extra inning with a two-run homer in the ninth. Jose Altuve homered with the bases empty.

Chi. White Sox 6 – OAKLAND 3… The White Sox pounded out 15 hits in doubling up on the Athletics. Brian Goodwin and César Hernández stroked two-run singles. Jimmy Lambert (1-1) held Oakland to a run on three hits over five innings in notching his first career victory.

INTERLEAGUE
PITTSBURGH 3 – Detroit 2… Ben Gamel had three hits, including a go-ahead two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning, and the Pirates topped the Tigers. Five relievers pitched a scoreless innings apiece following starter Dillon Peters.

Texas 3 – ARIZONA 1… Jason Martin delivered a tie-breaking two-run single as the Rangers did all their scoring in the top of the fourth inning and breezed past the Diamondbacks. Jordan Lyles gave up a run on three hits over seven innings in relief of starter Spencer Howard.

L.A. Angels 4 – SAN DIEGO 0… Jo Adell’s one-out, two-run single in the top of the seventh inning broke a scoreless tie, as well as Padre starter Blake Snell’s no-hitter, and provided all the offense the Angels needed.  Luis Rengifo homered to lead off the ninth. Packy Naughton and three relievers combined on a four-hitter.
