NATIONAL LEAGUE
WASHINGTON 4 – N.Y. Mets 3… Pinch-hitter Andrew Stevenson and Carter Kieboom delivered run-scoring singles in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Nationals a come-from-behind win over the Mets. Washington captured two of the five games in the series.

Philadelphia 12 – MILWAUKEE 0… Zack Wheeler pitched five-hit ball over six innings and got plenty of support in the Phillies’ drubbing of the Brewers. Brad Miller went 3-for-5 with a pair of solo homers. Jean Segura unloaded a grand slam. Bryce Harper, Andrew McCutchen and Freddy Galvis also went deep.

CHI. CUBS 4 – Cincinnati 3… The Cubs recovered to edge the Reds for their seventh straight win after blowing an early three-run lead. Frank Schwindel singled home Alfonso Rivas with a tie-breaking run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Ian Happ belted a three-run homer in the first.

San Francisco 10 – COLORADO 5… Thairo Estrada homered twice and knocked in three runs as the Giants doubled up on the Rockies. Darrin Ruff and Buster Posey smacked bases-empty homers. Kevin Gausman (13-5) allowed three runs on five hits over seven solid innings.

L.A. Dodgers 5 – ST. LOUIS 1… Chris Taylor’s two-run homer capped a four-run top of the first inning and the Dodgers cruised past the Cardinals. Max Scherzer (13-4) allowed just an unearned run on six hits and struck out 13 over eight innings. His 104th double-digit strikeout games tie him for fifth place in MLB history.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Kansas City 3 – BALTIMORE 2… Salvador Perez singled home a tying run in the top of the eighth inning and scored the decisive run on Andrew Benintendi’s single as the Royals squeaked past the Orioles. Benintendi reached above the left-field wall to take away Anthony Santander’s home-run bid to lead off the ninth.

Toronto 8 – N.Y. YANKEES 0… The Blue Jays breezed past the Yankees for their fifth straight win. Hyun Jin Ryu (13-8) limited New York to three hits over six innings and three relievers completed the shutout. Marcus Semien homered twice and drove in five runs for Toronto. Vladimir Guerrero, Jr., connected for his 40th homer.

Tampa Bay 11 – BOSTON 10 (10 innings)… The Rays came from six runs down in the fourth inning to outlast the Red Sox. Nelson Cruz and Brandon Lowe cracked RBI singles in the top of the 10th inning. Austin Meadows hit a tying, inside-the-park homer in the ninth.

Minnesota 5 – CLEVELAND 2…  Jorge Polanco hit a solo homer and doubled three times in leading the Twins past the Indians. Byron Buxton also went deep. Rob Refsnyder got things going with a two-run single in the top of the first inning.

HOUSTON 11 – Seattle 2… The Astros scored six times in the bottom of the second inning and never looked back in their romp over the Mariners. Rookie Jake Meyers hit a three-run homer and singled home a run. Lance McCullers, Jr., (11-4) surrendered two runs on four hits over six innings.

Texas 4 – L.A. ANGELS 0… A.J. Alexy (2-0) made his second impressive start since his call-up from the minor leagues. He allowed just one hit over six innings and didn’t permit a baserunner after the second inning. Jose Trevino knocked in two of Texas’ runs with a double and a single.

INTERLEAGUE
PITTSBURGH 6 – Detroit 3… Ke’Bryan Hayes and Yoshi Tsutsugo hit two-run singles during a four-run bottom of the seventh inning that carried the Pirates past the Tigers for their first win in seven games. Hayes finished with three hits. Kevin Newman homered with a runner aboard in the first.
