NATIONAL LEAGUE
Philadelphia 7 – WASHINGTON 6… The Phillies erased a six-run deficit to upend the Nationals. Andrew McCutchen lined a bases-loaded double in the top of the sixth inning and singled home a run to spark a four-run seventh.

SAN FRANCISCO 5 – Milwaukee 1… Darin Ruf doubled home a tie-breaking run and Thairo Estrada hit a three-run homer during a four-run bottom of the eighth that carried the Giants past the Brewers. Austin Slater homered in the first.

N.Y. METS 4 – Miami 3… Pinch-hitter Dominic Smith delivered a tie-breaking RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning and the Mets made it stand in edging the Marlins. Jonathan Villar homered in the first for New York. Francisco Lindor doubled home a run in the fourth and came around to score on a balk.

CHI. CUBS 6 – Pittsburgh 5 (11 innings)… Sergio Alcántara raced home with the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning when Pirates’ second baseman second baseman Wilmer Difo mishandled an Ian Happ popup. Happ and Rafael Ortega homered for the Cubs.

Atlanta 6 – COLORADO 5… Adam Duvall connected for a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning as the Braves overtook the Rockies. Jorge Soler also went deep for Atlanta. Austin Riley doubled home two runs.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Oakland 8 – DETROIT 6… The Athletics built an 8-0 lead through 4-1/2 innings and held on to top the Tigers. Jed Lowrie hit a three-run homer and Mark Canha added a solo shot during a four-run top of the first inning. Yan Gomes had a couple of hits, including a two-run double.

Boston 4 – TAMPA BAY 0… Eduardo Rodriguez (11-7) pitched four-hit ball into the seventh inning and reliever Garrett Richards slammed the door in the Red Sox’ shutout of the Rays. Bobby Dalbec stroked a pair of run-scoring singles for Boston.

Cleveland 4 – KANSAS CITY 2… Triston McKenzie (4-5) allowed just a run on two hits over six innings as the Indians downed the Royals. Owen Miller hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning and Yu Chang added an RBI single in the eighth.
