Gearldine (Garr) Turnbull, 75 of Unionville, Missouri passed away in Lucerne, Missouri on Friday, July 30, 2021.

The daughter of Emery William Ernest and Juanita Alice (McCaskey) Garr, she was born on August 17, 1945 in Centerville, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Missouri. She was united in marriage to David Leo and to this union two children were born, Shirley and David. She then was united in marriage to William Turnbull.

Gearldine is survived by her children, Shirley Leo of Unionville, Missouri and David Leo of Unionville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Brandi Sapp and husband, Jared of Greentop, Missouri, Lezlea Tilden and husband, Colby of Unionville, Missouri, Leeloy Dial of Kirksville, Missouri, Trinity Williams of St. Joseph, Missouri and Kia Maletta and husband, Tony of Unionville, Missouri; several great grandchildren; two brothers, William Garr and wife, Shirley of Pleasantville, Iowa and Norman Garr and wife, Lori of Lancaster, Missouri; nieces and nephews and other family members.

Gearldine is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Turnbull on June 19, 2008; two brothers, Lawrence Garr and his wife, Jennie and John Garr and one sister, Louise Avery.

Gearldine worked as a home health aide with Home Health Care and had worked for the same individual for 15 consecutive years. She was devoted to her family as she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating. Music will be special CD selections of “Motorcycle Cowboy”, “Me and God” and “Sissy’s Song”. Pallbearers will be Gary Garr, William Garr, Jr., Chad Garr, Jared Sapp, Linn West and David Bradshaw. Honorary pallbearers will be David Leo, William Garr, Norman Garr and the grandchildren. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the family.
