Blue Jays Best Royals

The Blue Jays made a triumphant return to Toronto after being away from home for nearly two years.

Bo Bichette hit a two-run homer and the Blue Jays beat the Kansas City Royals 6-4 Friday night.

George Springer had three hits and an RBI in his first home game north of the border as the Blue Jays played at Rogers Centre for the first time since Sept. 29, 2019.

Kansas City lost for just the second time in 10 games.

Right-hander Ross Stripling (4-6) allowed two runs and four hits in 5 1/3 innings to snap a three-start winless streak as the Blue Jays won for the third time in four games.

Daniel Lynch pitched eight shutout innings to beat Detroit on Sunday for his first career win, but couldn’t match that against the Blue Jays, allowing three runs and seven hits in six innings.

 

RHP Brady Singer (shoulder) allowed four runs and five hits in 1 1/3 innings in his first rehab outing with Triple-A Omaha Friday.

LHP Mike Minor (8-8, 5.32) starts for Kansas City this afternoon at 2:05.

First place White Sox lead second place Cleveland by 9 games, third place Detroit 12 games out, the fourth place Royals are 15 games out.
