Ray Dean Drage

Ray Dean Drage, 87, of Edina, Missouri passed away Monday evening, June 14, 2021, at his residence in Edina, Missouri.

Ray was born on March 19, 1934, at Perry Illinois, the son of Arthur Tandy and Elsie May Icenogle Drage.

He was raised in the Perry, Illinois area, attended Perry and Chambersburg Schools. Ray worked as a farm hand in Illinois until 1960, when he moved to Missouri where he went to work for 10 years for Hy-Grade Foods as a field representative. He worked for Mid-American Dairyman as a field representative and Dairy Farmers of America for 35 years before retiring.

Ray was a “born again Christian” and a member of the Knox City Baptist Church. He had a big heart and enjoyed helping others. Friends and neighbors loved his infectious laughter.

On June 10, 1995, in Edina, Missouri Ray married Betty Lucille Prather and she survives of the home. Also surviving is a son, Douglas and Jackie Drage of Columbia, Missouri; two daughters, Ronnie and Dana Riney of Hannibal, Missouri, and Pam and Dale Mullen of Auburn, Illinois; grandchildren; great grandchildren; five step children, Dorothy and Larry De Braceleire of Armstrong, Missouri, Eric Harvey of LaBelle, Missouri, Bill Hitchcock of LaBelle, Missouri, Linda and Scott Walton of Quincy, Illinois, and Melvin and Amanda Harvey of Versailles, Illinois; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Rick Drage and Mike Drage; and a brother, Gene Drage.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the Knox City Cemetery in Knox City, Missouri. Reverend Doug Wilson will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
