Former Mizzou football coach Gary Pinkel and standout Jeremy Maclin were both placed on the ballot for the National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame on Wednesday.
Pinkel is one of seven coaches from the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision on this year’s ballot. Maclin is one of 78 players to make the coveted list.
Pinkel is the winningest coach in Mizzou and Toledo football history. He won 191 games in 25 years as a head coach.
The 69-year-old retired from MU after the 2015 season. He finished with a record of 118-73 during his time in Columbia. Pinkel led the Tigers to back-to-back SEC Championship games in 2013 and 2014. Pinkel was on the ballot this past year as well.
Maclin was a two-time First Team All-American for the Tigers. The St. Louis native broke MU’s record for all-purpose yards in just two seasons with 5,609 yards. The former first round pick went on to play nine seasons in the NFL.
