MLB SCOREBOARD…
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Philadelphia 17 – CINCINNATI 3… The Phillies belted seven home runs in crushing the Reds. Odubel Herrera and Andrew McCutchen each homered twice. Matt Joyce capped the scoring with a grand slam.

Washington 11 – ATLANTA 6… The Nationals got two-run homers from Ryan Zimmerman and Juan Soto in pounding the Braves. Soto also singled home two runs.

CHI. CUBS 4 – San Diego 3… Willson Contreras hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning and the Cubs made it stand in edging the Padres. Patrick Wisdom’s third homer in two games came with a runner aboard in the second.

ARIZONA 6 – N.Y. Mets 5 (10 innings)… The Diamondbacks erased a 4-0 sixth-inning deficit in outlasting the Mets. Josh Reddick delivered a walkoff two-run double in the bottom of the 10th inning. Pavin Smith put Arizona on the board with a three-run homer in the sixth. Josh Rojas singled home Nick Ahmed with a tying run in the ninth.

St. Louis 3 – L.A. DODGERS 2… Edmundo Sosa singled home Tyler O’Neill with a tie-breaking run in the top of the ninth inning to send the Cardinals past the Dodgers. O’Neill made a game-saving catch with two on to end the game.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
CLEVELAND 6 – Chi. White Sox 5… Austin Hedges hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the third inning and the Indians held off the White Sox. Harold Ramirez knocked in a couple runs with a pair of singles.

N.Y. YANKEES 5 – Tampa Bay 3 (11 innings)… Clint Frazier’s two-out two-run homer in the bottom of the 11th inning lifted the Yankees over the Rays for their first win in five games. Miguel Andujar also went deep.

BALTIMORE 7 – Minnesota 4… The Orioles downed the Twins to end their 14-game losing streak. Maikel Franco and Pedro Severino smacked solo homers. Trey Mancini knocked in two runs with a pair of singles. Cedric Mullins had two hits, scored twice and made a sensational catch in center field.

HOUSTON 5 – Boston 1… Astros starter Luis Garcia (4-3) held the Red Sox to a run on five hits over seven innings. Jose Altuve homered to lead off the bottom of the first inning. Houston added a pair of unearned runs during a three-run seventh.

Oakland 12 – SEATTLE 6… Sean Murphy’s two-run double capped a six-run top of the seventh inning that carried the Athletics past the Mariners. Matt Olson opened the scoring with a homer to lead off the second and singled home two runs. Tony Kemp homered with a runner aboard.

INTERLEAGUE
TORONTO 5 – Miami 1… Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 4-for-4 with a three-run homer in leading the Blue Jays past the Marlins. Robbie Ray (3-2) allowed just a run on six hits over six innings.

Detroit 10 – MILWAUKEE 7… Eric Haase and Jonathan Schoop each homered twice to help power the Tigers past the Brewers. Miguel Cabrera produced a three-run double.

KANSAS CITY 10 – Pittsburgh 5… Andrew Benintendi singled home a run and blasted a grand slam as the Royals doubled up on the Pirates. Salvador Perez homered twice and drove in three runs.

COLORADO 3 – Texas 2 (11 innings)… Ryan McMahon raced home on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 11th inning and the Rockies dealt the Rangers their 13th straight road loss. Charlie Blackmon and Yonathan Daza knocked in Colorado’s first two runs with infield singles.

L.A. Angels 8 – SAN FRANCISCO 1… Anthony Rendon had three hits and drove in five runs in leading the Angels past the Giants. Andrew Heaney (3-3) surrendered a run on five hits over 6-1/3 innings.
