Larry Eugene Primm

Larry Eugene Primm, 80, of Novelty, Missouri, passed away Sunday evening, May 23, 2021, at his farm northwest of Novelty, Missouri.

Larry was born on September 25, 1940, in Canton, Illinois, the son of Leroy Theodore and Rosalea Taylor Primm.

He attended school at Antioch Rural School near Colony and graduated from the Baring High School in the Class of 1959, and continued his education with Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville, Missouri.

On November 22, 1962, in Kirksville, Missouri, Larry married Berna “Beth” Frazee, and to this union one son was born.

He taught school in Knox County but most of all in Novelty, Missouri. When his father-in-law’s health failed, he joined the farming operation. In 1977 Beth retired and helped Larry farm, something he really enjoyed.

They attended the Locust Hill Christian Church and the Plevna Christian Church and he had been a member of the Pioneer Rangers Saddle Club, the Community Club, and served on the Board of the Knox County Nursing Home. He enjoyed his horses, and loved his family especially his grandchildren and the farm life.

Larry is survived by his son, Jerrin Primm of Kirksville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Devon Doss and Morgan Riley; two great grandsons, Carter and Rykar Doss; two brothers, Jerry and Barbara Primm of Moline, Illinois and Danny and Barbara Ann Primm of Macon, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Primm of St. Charles, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of neighbors and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Beth Primm on December 15, 2020; his parents, Leroy and Rosalee Primm; a brother Jimmy Primm; and two sisters, Nancy Latimer and Cathy Primm as a teenager.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon on Friday until service time at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Locust Hill Cemetery, west of Novelty, Missouri.

Reese Blaine will officiate and music will be provided by Marsha Pinson and Martha Marie Huse. Casket Bearers will be Rex Franke, Karl Franke, Ray Griffith, J.W. Jones, Randall Smoot and Dennis Bradley.
