Bina “Barbara” Jarman

Bina “Barbara” Jarman went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 25th, 2021. She passed peacefully with family at her side. She passed away at Olathe Health Hospice House in Olathe, Kansas,

Barbara was born in Unionville, MO, on January 8, 1938, to Neal and Bina (Wyckoff) Adkins and raised on their family farm along with her brother James. She graduated from Unionville High School. Upon graduation she began working for the ASCS office in Unionville.

She married Larry Jarman on April 12th, 1957, and resided in Unionville, MO, before moving to Kirksville, MO, Columbia, MO, and settling in Merriam, KS in 1967, where they lived together until Larry’s passing in 2007.

Barbara was very devoted to her family and most enjoyed hosting meals, playing games and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was active in Legacy Christian Church in Overland Park, KS, and faithfully attended worship service, Sunday school and Bible studies. She remained very close to friends and neighbors through the years and could be counted on to lend a hand when needed. She was very appreciative of visits and cards from her friends in her final days.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father Neal Adkins, her mother Bina Adkins, her brother James Adkins and her husband Larry Jarman. She is survived by her two children, Dennis Jarman and wife Mendy of Lake Quivira, KS, and Sharon Alexander and husband Chris of Piper, KS. Barbara’s surviving grandchildren are Tanner Jarman and wife Bridget, Connor Jarman, Maddison Jarman, Jesse Hood and Emily June. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Riley and Maverick.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 Friday May 28th at Playle & Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 South 27th Street, Unionville, MO 63565. Graveside services will immediately follow at the Unionville Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at Legacy Church in Overland Park, KS with date to be determined.

In Lieu of flower she requested donations be made to: Show Me Christian Youth Home, Legacy Christian Church, or Olathe Health Hospice House, and may be entrusted with Playle & Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th, Unionville, Missouri, 63565.
