Colorado 5 – ST. LOUIS 2… The Avalanche skated past the Blues to complete a four-game sweep of the West Division first-round playoff series. Gabriel Landeskog tipped in a go-ahead goal in the second period and had an assist. Mikko Rantanen also had a goal and an assist for Colorado, which awaits the winner of the Vegas-Minnesota series in the second round.
NASHVILLE 4 – Carolina 3 (2OT)… Luke Kunin’s second goal of the game came at 16:10 of the second overtime period and brought the Central Division first-round playoff series even at 2-2. Goalie Juuse Saros made 48 saves for Nashville. The series shifts to Raleigh for Game 5 tomorrow.
Boston 3 – WASHINGTON 1… The Bruins held off the Capitals to wrap up the East Division first-round playoff series in five games. Patrice Bergeron found the net twice. David Pastrnak had a goal and an assist. Tuukka Rask made 40 saves at goal. Next up for Boston is the winner of the Pittsburgh-New York Islanders series in the second round.
WINNIPEG 5 – Edmonton 4 (OT)… The Jets erased a three-goal third-period deficit to top the Oilers and take a 3-0 lead in the North Division first-round playoff series. Nikolaj Ehlers opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period and netted the winning goal at 9:13 of overtime. Blake Wheeler and Josh Morrissey scored 16 seconds apart late in the third period to tie the game after Mathieu Perrault netted a power-play goal to put Winnipeg back in it. The series remains in Winnipeg for tonight’s Game 4.
