After a day off Thursday, the St. Louis Cardinals welcome the Chicago Cubs to Busch Stadium for the weekend starting Friday. Carlos Martinez is scheduled to come off the IL and start for the Cardinals tonight, the Cubs will counter with Kyle Hendricks. 6:20 with the pregame and the first pitch at 7:15 on KIRX. The first place Cardinals lead second place Chicago by three games, third place Milwaukee is four games out.
Meanwhile, the Royals will have a chance to keep the winning going after sweeping the Brewers, when they host Detroit for the weekend starting tonight. Mike Minor will start for KC tonight at 7:10. In the AL Central the White Sox are in first place, second place Cleveland is 2 1/2 out, third place Royals are six games out.
