Ronald Burton Mehlenbacher, 81, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away at home on Saturday, May 15, 2021.
Mr. Mehlenbacher was born June 5, 1939, to James and Louise (Sanders) Mehlenbacher. He attended public schools in Nunda, New York, before obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology in May of 1961. On September 2, 1961, he was married to Celia Frances Dodd in Nunda, NY. Mr. Mehlenbacher was plant manager for the Burroughs Corporation and the Standard Register Company at various locations throughout the country, including Kirksville, MO. At the time of his retirement in 1999, he was manager of the Standard Register plant in Tolland, CT.
Mr. Mehlenbacher was predeceased by his siblings, Sandra and David, and a son, Daniel, who was killed in a car crash in 1984. He is survived by his wife, Celia; daughter, Gwen Jeffries of Raytown, MO, and son, Jeffrey (Sara) Mehlenbacher of Kirksville, MO; four grandchildren: Danielle (Greg) Beck, Brent Mehlenbacher, Allison Jeffries, Larissa Jeffries; and two greatgranddaughters, Libby Reynolds and Riley Jeffries.
Mr. Mehlenbacher’s wishes were to forego a visitation and memorial service. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or UNICEF through Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
