Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz promoted Marcus Johnson to assistant head coach and run game coordinator on Wednesday afternoon.
Johnson will still continue to coach the offensive line, according to a release.
Johnson’s offensive line unit ranked fourth in the SEC in sacks per game (1.6) in his first season with the program. MU’s offense rushed for 135 yards per game, including 21 touchdowns.
Before coming to Columbia, Johnson had previously coached at Mississippi State and Duke. The former Ole Miss standout played in the NFL for five seasons.
