NATIONAL LEAGUE
PITTSBURGH 7 – Cincinnati 2… The Pirates beat the Reds for the first time in nine tries. Adam Frazier homered. Troy Stokes Jr. drove in runs with his first two major league hits.
Philadelphia 6 – WASHINGTON 2… Bryce Harper homered in the top of the first inning to get the Phillies going and they cruised past the Nationals. Trea Turner also went deep.
St. Louis 6 – MILWAUKEE 1 (11 innings)… Paul Goldschmidt homered with a runner aboard and Tyler O’Neill added a three-run shot during a five-run top of the 11th inning that carried the Cardinals past the Brewers.
San Diego 8 – COLORADO 1… Manny Machado knocked in five runs with a homer and a triple as the Padres ripped the Rockies. Five San Diego pitchers combined on a three-hitter.
ARIZONA 11 – Miami 3… Asdrubal Cabrera went 4-for-5 with a three-run homer in leading the Diamondbacks past the Marlins. Nick Ahmed added a solo shot. Starter Madison Bumgarner (4-2) pitched four-hit ball over seven scoreless innings
AMERICAN LEAGUE
N.Y. Yankees 3 – TAMPA BAY 1… The Yankees got solo homers from Aaron Judge and Gary Sánchez in downing the Rays. Jordan Montgomery (2-1) gave up a run on two hits over six innings.
DETROIT 8 – Kansas City 7… The Tigers recovered to top the Royals after blowing a seven-run eighth-inning lead. Robbie Grossman singled home Niko Goodrum with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. Grossman earlier tripled with the bases loaded and lifted a sacrifice fly.
Oakland 3 – BOSTON 2… Matt Chapman singled home a tie-breaking run and scored on Elvis Andrus’ single in the top of the seventh inning to push the Athletics past the Red Sox. Chris Bassitt (3-2) surrendered two runs on three hits and struck out 10 in seven innings.
HOUSTON 5 – L.A. Angels 1… Michael Brantley singled home a run and Yuli Gurriel blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Astros put away the Angels. Kyle Tucker homered to lead of the fifth.
CHI. WHITE SOX 9 – Minnesota 3… Yasmani Grandal cracked a game-tying three-run homer in the bottom of the third inning and Jose Abreu added a go-ahead two-run shot in the sixth as the White Sox rolled past the Twins for their fourth straight win.
INTERLEAGUE
SAN FRANCISCO 4 – Texas 2… Logan Webb (2-3) fanned 10 in a solid six-inning start and the Giants dealt the Rangers their 10th straight interleague loss. Mike Yastrzemski doubled home a tying run in the bottom of the first inning. San Francisco scored twice more in the sixth on a throwing error by Texas third-baseman Charlie Culberson.
CLEVELAND 3 – Chi Cubs 2… César Hernández drilled a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning and the Indians held on to edge the Cubs. Jose Ramirez tied the game with a homer to lead off the fourth.
N.Y. METS 3 – Baltimore 2… The Mets came up with two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to upend the Orioles for their sixth straight win. Domonic Smith singled home the tying run and Patrick Mazeika produced a walkoff fielder’s choice grounder. Michael Conforto put New York on the board in the eighth with an RBI single.
Toronto 5 – ATLANTA 3… Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homered with a runner aboard in the top of the sixth inning and singled home a run to spark a three-run eighth for the Blue Jays.
L.A. DODGERS 6 – Seattle 4… Gavin Lux belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to send the Dodgers past the Mariners. Corey Seager singled home two runs in the seventh after his brother, Kyle, hit a two-run homer for Seattle.
