BOSTON 4 – N.Y. Islanders 1… Brad Marchand netted a pair of goals as the Bruins skated past the Islanders. Taylor Hall scored his first goal for Boston.

N.Y. RANGERS 4 – New Jersey 0… Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin faced only 16 shots in recording his second straight shutout. Artemi Panarin scored two goals and assisted on another.

Buffalo 5 – WASHINGTON 2… Viktor Olofsson scored a go-ahead goal early in the second period and the Sabres scored twice more in the period on their way past the Capitals. Anders Bjork scored a goal and had an assist.

CAROLINA 4 – Nashville 1… The Hurricanes scored three unanswered goals over an 8-minute period spanning the second and third periods in downing the Predators. Vincent Trocheck and Andrei Svechnikov each had a goal and an assist.

TAMPA BAY 3 – Florida 2 (OT)… Victor Hedman found the net 54 seconds into overtime to lift the Lightning over the Panthers. Ross Colton scored a tying goal midway through the third. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 36 saves at goal.

Philadelphia 2 – PITTSBURGH 1 (SO)… Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier scored in the shootout to send the Flyers past the Penguins. Jakub Voracek scored in regulation for Philadelphia.

Winnipeg 5 – TORONTO 2… Nikolaj Ehlers scored a pair of goals as the Jets topped the Maple Leafs. Mark Scheifele added a goal and two assists.

DETROIT 4 – Chicago 1… Troy Stecher netted two second-period goals as the Red Wings cruised past the Blackhawks. Jakub Vrana scored in his debut for Detroit.

DALLAS 4 – Columbus 1… The Stars got a pair of goals and an assist from Denis Gurianov in breezing past the Blue Jackets. Miro Heiskanen and Joe Pavelski also found the net.
