DETROIT 4 – Minnesota 3 (10 innings)… Akil Baddoo singled home Harold Castro with the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning to send the Tigers past the Twins. Robbie Grossman knocked in a pair of runs with a double and a single.

WASHINGTON 6 – Atlanta 5… Juan Soto’s single in the bottom of the ninth inning scored Victor Robles and made a winner out of the Nationals in their delayed season opener. Trea Turner homered with a runner aboard and Jonathan Lucroy doubled home two runs for Washington.

Houston 4 – L.A. ANGELS 2… Carlos Correa belted a tie-breaking two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning to push the Astros past the Angels. Houston tied the game in the second on back-to-back solo homers by Kyle Tucker and Aledmys Diaz.

N.Y. YANKEES 7 – Baltimore 2… Gerrit Cole (1-0) pitched four-hit ball and struck out 13 in a dominant performance that carried the Yankees past the orioles. Aaron Judge singled home a run and blasted a three-run homer. Jay Bruce also went deep.

CINCINNATI 14 – Pittsburgh 1… Tyler Naquin homered twice and drove in seven runs to lead the Reds in their shredding of the Pirates. Jonathan India went 3-for-4 with four RBIs.

St. Louis 4 – MIAMI 2… The Cardinals eased past the Marlins after spotting them an early two-run lead. Yadier Molina lifted a go-ahead sacrifice fly to cap a three-run top of the sixth inning. Dylan Carlson added a solo homer.

N.Y. Mets 8 – PHILADELPHIA 4… The Mets put together a four-run top of the seventh inning in doubling up on the Phillies. Dominic Smith and Pete Alonso hit two-run homers.

BOSTON 6 – Tampa Bay 5 (12 innings)… J.D. Martinez’ two-run double in the bottom of the 12th inning gave the Red Sox a hard-fought win over the Rays. Christian Vazquez hit a game-tying homer in the bottom of the ninth inning and Rafael Devers singled home another tying run in the 11th.

Milwaukee 4 – CHI. CUBS 0… Freddy Peralta (1-0) and two relievers combined on a one-hitter and the Brewers cruised past the Cubs. Travis Shaw drilled a three-run homer in the top of the first inning. Omar Narváez added a solo shot in the fourth.

TEXAS 7 – Toronto 4… Nick Lowe connected for a pair of two-run homers and the Rangers got solo blasts from Ronald Guzmán and Jonah Heim in downing the Blue Jays. Starter Dane Dunning (1-0) allowed a run on three hits over five innings.

L.A. Dodgers 5 – OAKLAND 1… Clayton Kershaw (1-1) gave up just a run on four hits over seven innings in a strong effort and the Dodgers dealt the Athletics their sixth straight loss to start the season. Max Muncy homered with a runner aboard. Edwin Rios and Mookie Betts added solo shots.

SAN DIEGO 3 – San Francisco 1… Victor Caratini’s tie-breaking two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning muscled the Padres past the Giants. Starter Yu Darvish pitched six strong innings but didn’t get a decision.

Arizona 10 – COLORADO 8 (13 innings)… Stephen Vogt singled home a run and Ketel Marte doubled home two more as the Diamondbacks scored three runs in the top of the 13th inning to outlast the Rockies after blowing one-run leads in the 10th and 12th innings. Vogt also hit a two-run homer in the seventh. Christian Walker homered with a runner aboard in the sixth.

Chi. White Sox 10 – SEATTLE 4…  Jose Abreu unloaded a grand slam, Zack Collins hit a three-run homer and Luis Robert added a two-run shot as the White Sox pounded the Mariners. Abreu also lifted a sacrifice fly.
